| Anyone here from Evanston IL or Chicago? My fiance got into Northwestern University for a history Phd so this summer we are relocating from NYC to Evanston Illinois!! Its going to be quite the culture shock for us, and even for Paddy since he's really a subway dog now haha. So if any of you live there let me know! We'd love friends near by and so would Paddy! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I was born and grew up in Evanston. My parents lived there until last year when I had to move them up by me. My Dad was born there ans lived there for all of his 86 years until he moved by me. WOuld you be in Campus? Evanston is a very nice place just check out the neighborhoods before moving into an apartment. Closer to the campus is pretty good. Close to Chicago and good transportation. Lots of good restaurants and a lot of young up and coming people mixed with an eldrely population that have lived there there whole lives. If you need any specific info contact me and I would be happy to help.

| yea we are trying to look for a place as close to campus as possible. Though we have found some REALLY nice places listed on craisgslist that are around St Francis Hospital. Is that area ok?? Everyone I've talked to has said its a really nice place. And I grew up in the suburbs of NY so I'm not totally unfamiliar to small suburban towns I'm actually pretty excited because I've never lived anywhere else. |

Chicago is one of my favorite towns and not far at all from Evanston. I think you can just follow Lakeshore Drive into Chicago. We visit Chicago at least four times a year. While in Evanston , you must go to the Davis Street Fish restaurant ( I think that is part of the name0. It is very good. In Chicago , you should visit Terry's Toffee - it's to die for! Erika | |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I lived behind St. Francis Hospital, on Sherman Ave. My parents sold there house last year to the hospital. They own much of the apartments and houses around the hospital and rent them out. The area is ok it was getting a little rough and we were glad to move my parents out of there. If you want specific info pm me I can tell you if the neighborhoods you are looking at are safe. Pretty much west of the hospital is better than East. My parents lived east but had no problems personally but it was just a matter of time.
