Just checked - the predicted temp is 90 on the 14th @ Stow.
We are still hoping to come, but have not made motel reservations yet.

You know, I was just thinking that we may want to cancel and reschedule for later in the year when it gets cooler... I know I cannot be out in this heat due to my asthma. If I'm uncomfortable, I can only imagine how uncomfortable our little ones are too.

What's the consensus? Cancel and reschedule in the fall?

I was worried about the heat too, but If people already shuffled their schedules around, I would hate to pull the rug out from under them. We could go later in the day when it's cooler? Stow also has an indoor dog park Welcome to Double Dog Day Care, Inc. | Stow, Ohio | 330-968-4272
We could check on that a little more, it is five bucks a dog and they want you to bring their shot records, thats what I see on their website. The fall would be out for me.

I thought it was planned for the 7th.

Even thou I'm not going, rescheduling sounds best. Fall weather is so much cooler for everyone (human & fur kids).

Keep in mind if you do reschedule, the hours of operation for the dog park you are going to.

Dinnersdad - I haven't received much of a response from those who were interesting initially - I have no idea how many are planning on coming. I live pretty close to Stow, so it would not affect me too much whether we have it now or later. Were you planning on coming? If so, we could definitely do later in the day when its cooler.

Hi everyone, so sorry for the late response but I've been hospitalized a few times and now have a few, hopefully minor issues with Yazmin's health. Now that I'm back to work, I only got permission to leave work an hour early next Saterday just yesterday!

It's now midnight and I have to be up at 3:00 AM for work tomorrow but I'll check back in the afternoon to see if the time or the schedule has changed. But either way, we'll be there!

So sorry to hear that you have not been well but glad to hear that you are on the mend again! What time will you be leaving work on Saturday? We are thinking of changing the time to later in the day to hopefully avoid some of the heat. And I hope you get some rest tonight.

Thank you Jacksmom for your concern, I am feeling much better now. I had planned on leaving work by 1:00 PM Saterday. The park is about 45 minutes from my home but if everyone chooses to meet later to avoid the heat, I may just stay and finish my shift. I agree on avoiding the heat! Any time will be fine with me.

Hey guys! So sorry to check in so late. I've been away from home and busy busy busy. I haven't found much time to chat. I apologize for not keeping up with the thread. If it is super hot, we will not be able to make it. We were planning on driving in but the hubby's work schedule has been totally turned around. I hate getting KS out if it's really hot. She will just lay there and give me the saddest face and the minute I take her back into the ac she is bouncing off the walls. Lol. I would certainly be up for a reschedule if it's going to be too hot. This is a 6-7 hr drive for us so I would hate to come and she be miserable all day. But if it is still on the 14th we will do our best to be there if at all possible.

So does anyone have any ideas on when we should do this? The heat has been terrible here in Ohio so I think Dawn is right and it might be a great idea to do it later in the fall. Aymee, since you seem to be the one coming the farthest and this was all your idea, I think you should set a new time for us. Let us know

I too think we should reschedule for a later time. This weather is just too hot for us and our furkids. I don't want to endanger them by having them out in this heat. They will want to run around and they can't do that in this heat or they will end up with heat stroke.

I'm all for later in the day, living about an hour away it's not really a big deal for me. The forecast for Saturday at this point is a high of 84 and 40% chance of thunderstorms. We could meet at 6 or 7. Also an idea is, we could get a bite to eat at Chipotle in Stow or Streetsboro which will let you eat with your furbabies on their outside patio, or well behaved dogs are allowed at the drive in, about 15 minutes away. My wife is trying to make the drive in from Illinois for this, so I am all for this weekend. I think we may want to consider a May or June date next year. The fall is a real bad time for me but I will try to make it if that is what everyone wants to do.

Looks like we will need to pass this time. It is a 7 hour drive for us also, and the heat would just put a damper on it. If you do decide to reschedule we will try for that one.

I was going to say - I just saw the weather for this Saturday and the high is down to 84 (which, compared to the last two weeks, is pretty cool) but its that chance of rain that worries me. I live about 30 minutes from the park, so whatever everyone decides is fine with me. And yes, I would love to meet Aymee and Katie Scarlett, since it was their idea in the first place.

DinnersDad, I totally understand why you want to keep it this weekend with your wife trying to come in from IL for the meet.

If we move it to the fall, I will be able to bring our new bundle of joy

(Izzy) - we should be getting her in just a couple of weeks! So excited! By then, she will have all of her shots so I can take her out and enjoy meeting other pooches.

Whatever the main consensus is, I go with. Just let me know.
