| Some males only have one testicle. Years ago we had an Irish Setter with only one. The vet did an extensive exploratory surgery for the "retained" testicle and found it to be non-existant. That was almost 30 years ago before sophisticated equipment. Perhaps testing can determine if there is a second one hiding and if so pinpoint its location before opening him up. |

| Like others have mentioned, if you don't get him nuetered his chances of getting cancer increase a lot. Nuetering cryptorchid is usually more expensive because they have to go inside the belly to get the other testicle, so if anything I would see if the breeder will reimburse that extra cost. Don't know if she would, but I don't think it would hurt to ask. Good luck with everything!
