I totally agree w/ everyone! I cannot imagine my life w/out my Yorkie and my Maltese. They are my children. I can't imagine my life w/out my pooches. They really do fill a maternal and natural instict in my life. My husband and I are still young (we're both 23) and still have a long way to go before we have children but, to be honest, I am an animal person. Don't get me wrong, I love kids - especially my 2 godchildren who are twin girls. They are 1 year old and I ADORE them. But I love my dogs in a different, special way. I honeslty never wanted children of my own but I ALWAYS wanted a dog. I am actually thinking of getting another tiny girl Yorkie. I think 3 is a good number

What a great idea for a thread! I'm almost 46 and have 2 kids, 12 and 14. Talk about not feeling needed! My daughter wanted a puppy for about a year and I kept saying no. Finally I gave in now we fight over who's the mommy to Tucker. I know I had no desire to have any more kids and Tucker is like a new baby to me! My kids accuse me of loving him more than them! Not true, but he's way up there! I feel like I have 3 children.

Good question--

Well I am 24 and have been married for 3 years. I am sure we'll have kids someday. I have always wanted to be a mommy. And I know my hubby would be an amazing dad. But right now I am really enjoying being with my husband at this stage of life. We have so much fun together.

When we do decide to have children (which will be in a few years), I am sure I'll do whatever I can to help Keeley feel comfortable. He'll always be my baby!

This is a great thread! I have a daughter, Lyric, who is almost 13. We never wanted any more kids...you shouldn't mess with perfection! lol
I am so NOT a baby person! But I am a Rocky person! I can't wait until he is older and a little better with his behavior! If anything, Rocky has reminded me how much work babies are!

I agree with your last comment.

A lot of people my age and even younger have new babies or are pregnant, and quite honestly it's making me sweat a little bit. I never saw myself having a kid because in all honestly, I view all little kids as the Seed of Chucky. And babies scare me.

I would so much rather babysit a dog than a kid. But I have some serious decision making to do because I'm not getting any younger. The funny thing is, I want a stroller so bad for Otis.

But I ask myself, if it Otis wasn't in the picture, would I be more receptive to the idea of having a baby?

I do not regret having Otis ONE BIT. He is the love of my life. But I wonder if Otis is screwing with my human maternal instinct. I don't want to wake up 15 years down the line, and wished I would have had kids. It will be too late.

Well- We have been married for 8 monthes and have had Luig for 6!!! We both want at least one-(only one if its a boy 1st, two if we have a girl 1st, then try for a boy, and if we end up with 2 girls-- thats it!!!) Ray really wants to carry on his family name. But we are in no hurry at all!! I am only 27- so I have lots of time. But if for some reason- we are not meant to have skin kids- then we will always have yorkies!!! Luig is our son now!!!
All my friends are having babies right now and as much as I love all of them- not ready to give up our lifestyle yet!!! I have Luig around all my friends babies, and he just adores them!!! He loves kids, so I hope if and when we bring a child into this crazy world, I know he will just adore him or her!!!

I can respond from expierience. I'm 31. I have 4 kids ages 14, 11 1/2 and a set of 9 yr old twins. The 14 year old is from my Fiance/ Husband previous realationship (we're the same age) The other three are my own children. We have been together for 8 years and have been living together for 4.

We went through a time where we wanted children of our own but, we really need to focus on these for now. I really must admit that after getting Josie 1 year and 2 month ago...I've reliazed, that the yearn for having more kids is gone. I think, I would much rather have another yorkie. They really are like children and the love I have for her and my children are very close.

My children, mostly the Twins will get jealous of Josie every once and a while. It's just that they want my attention too. They will say things like "you love her more than us" Then I just have give them all the attention and Josie will be the one whinning. It's nice to be loved

I have 3 kids, 12 yr old son and 4 yr old daugther and of course Gucci my soon to be 1yr old Yorkie(July10). I had my skin kids before my furbaby. Too us Gucci is part of the family, she is one of my children. I already had a tubal ligation so we are not having anymore skin kids. Like some of you said why mess with perfection. In another hand we all want more furbabies.

No, both my boyfriend and I do not wan to have any kids. My Deegan keeps me on the go enough. I may be a good mommy to him, but I am not mother material for another human being. Don'e get me wrong, I like kids, but I just prefer not to have any of my own. People look at me weird saying that "It's not a family without any kids." I hate when they say stuff like that.
Or when people say your poor mothers for not being grandparents.... It wouldn't be them raising them, it would be me. They had their children.

I am 28 and perfectly content with my life how it is with my man and my furbaby! And we are a family!

I'm 36 and my husband is almost 38. We've been married for 4 years, together for 18 1/2 years. We have no strong burning desire to have kids. We like being able to do what we want, when we want. After 10 years of not wanting another dog after my last one passed, I finally decided I really wanted a yorkie. Best thing I ever did! I think he fulfills both of our instincts to take care of a baby. I even gave my husband a father's day card with Romeo's paw print on it! He loves being near me all the time and I love that. We already are on the lookout for a brother for him! My husband kept trying to put off getting one...but now that we have, he's just as attached as I am. He kisses him and tell him he loves him every morning before he leaves.

I'm 26 and don't plan on having children. My husband and I discussed it to death and finally decided we just don't see ourselves as parents to human babies so he had a vasectomy to make sure we don't have any accidents. We decided that if we somehow change our minds about kids we can always adopt. Our dogs are definitely our kids, we really wouldn't have it any other way, we love them to bits and pieces and they are enough to keep us occupied and happy. My in-laws would disagree.. my mother in law cried when my husband told her that we weren't planning on having any children.. she doesn't know about the vasectomy because she'd throw a fit. She wouldn't be the only one either.. we are always getting pestered by people wanting to know when we are going to have kids.. I usually tell them that we already have two kids.. Tuffy & Pixie. I just wish that would just accept our decision and quit bugging us.
