| question on belly band Ok, I know that this is probably a stupid question. But here I go. Cozmo, is our rescue yorkie, Cozmo will be 2 years in Jan.He is not fixed will be Nov 14, the vet said beings he was taught to mark his area that he will probably have to wear a belly band for ever. Does this sound right to everybody. Deiter sleeps with us. Cozmo sleeps in his pen. I feel bad but beings he marks his area as soon as he is out, & with out a belly band. I would love for him to sleep with us also. But I don't trust him without the belly band. So will Cozmo ever be able to sleep with me also? I don't like it that Cozmo probably feels like we don't love him or feels left out. Please help.................

| I have a 16 month old boy who is not fixed. Right now he is doing really well with almost no accidents. And while he was marking quite a bit, wearing a belly band and still marking while wearing it he has stopped. I cleaned every one I found with vinegar and put a belly band on him every time I found one and he would wear it until I took him out again then I would let it stay off untill I found another mark and then on it would go again until the marks became less and then just about stopped. He was sleeping with us when he was marking and I would just have him sleep in his band and then he could be with us and I didn't have to worry. He can be trained to stop it just takes diligence.

| I don't have any experience with it, but I did see a couple of episodes of "It's Me or the Dog" where she dealt with that as a behavioral issue, so I would like to think it's not a lost cause completely!! In the meantime, THANK GOODNESS FOR BELLY BANDS!!

| Thanks. Cozmo will not mark wearing the belly band. But as soon as I take it off he will mark everything and anything. I take it off when he is in the his xpen and he does good. knock on wood. The gentleman that had him first taught him to do this. That is what we were told. I know for a fact that the gentleman taught him that cause he was showing us. He said Cozmo go mark the post, tree and Cozmo would go and do it then the man would say good Cozmo. Plus he said that he let him do it in his house also. We have a 11 mon old Yorkie Deiter. He was here first. But we had Deiter fixed so he never got into that. Also Deiter was potty trained by 6 mons old and only had may 12 accidents from the time we got him until he was broke, and I always cleaned it up right away. Thanks I will keep working on it. Maybe tonight I will let Cozmo sleep with us and see if that will help. Thanks again.

| Isn't that the truth. Other wise I would be pully my hair out and saying here I don't want him. But we are getting there with all that Cozmo has gone thur. It just is taking more time that I want. So I have to be patient and remember that he needs lots of love also.
