| I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Oh sweetie! I can just tell from reading your post how terribly scared you were I would have been sooo scared as well. Thank goodness Sawyer is ok, and PLEASE don't feel bad. We are only human and we ALL make mistakes. The important thing is that sweet little Sawyer is ok, and I'm sure now you will be super duper careful (as we all will from reading this!) when giving treats Please give Sawyer a big hug from me and my babies!

| I just found this tonight and I totally agree with everyone in both their relief that everything turned out okay and their assurance that it can happen to all of us. I can imagine how terrified you were. In fact, we noticed in the last week or so, that Coby is barely chewing his treats (we cut everything up into tiny pieces ahead of time). So now, we have the rule that he has to be sitting AND the treat comes from beneath his head not from our standing position above him. We found that if we give him a treat from above, it goes down the hatch with little if any chewing. If we hand it to him from below, he doesn't swallow as fast.
