| I have a black and gold named Maggie. Her hair was thin when she was yonger but has thickened up now as an adult. I breed yorkies, all the puppies I have ever had have been black and gold and later turn into their true colors. Some of them are black and gold now and some of them are blue and I have had a few turn blonde. I have not noticed a differnece in the coat vs. color. I'm new on this and if I can figure it out I'll send some pics of Maggie as a pup and now. Her coat is wirey but is full. Your little girl is sooooo cute though! I think she has a very sweet face! |

Blue Born yorkies are different. they come out a different color when born like a blue grey color. while most yorkie babies are back and gold when born. blue borns have very little hair while the head and leg hair might grow out the back of the yorkie(saddle (like a horse) doesnt grow!! I guess its hard to explain! | |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | I know a lady who has a yorkie that looks like yours. She is like 2 yrs old and has really really short hair, it like doesn't grow! I think she was born blue. My London had really short hair when she was little, like i thought it would never grow and it felt wirey but now it is very long but still feels diff. than my other 2 yorkies. Her head hair is really silky tho, and she was born chocolate.. idk if that has something to do with it

| I think your dog is a normal colored yorkie but I think you need to take her to the vet. I think she might have a skin condition that needs to be treated. Good luck. |

| Oh my gosh sue!! I have the exact kind og dog you do and I have been worried sick about her. She is 5 months. I will post some pictures for you to see her. I was very uneducated when I bought my dog. Don't get me worng she is seriously one of the best dogs I have ever had BUT...she has hardly any hair. They have done every test possible to see if something was wrong with her and everything came out normal. I really really really wish her hair would grow. |

| There's not much you can do to make their hair grow. It's just genetically that way. Being wirey makes it break off fast so it never will get long, plus their hair grows very slowly. My yorkie, Lacy, has a coarser silky coat. I wouldn't say she's wirey at all but her coat is coarser than it should be. Her hair grows very slow but it is growing... I have been giving her Fish oil/vit. E which seems to help somewhat and she's on a raw diet which has helped as well. Those combined have made her hair a little silker and definitely shinier.

| If the pup were born blue, usually its fatal early on and if they do live, its usually very painful and they still only have a short life. So, hopefully that isnt the case with your puppy. I would definately have her skin checked out by a vet as well as a blood panel. Hormone levels could also be off. Good luck |
