There's not much you can do to make their hair grow. It's just genetically that way. Being wirey makes it break off fast so it never will get long, plus their hair grows very slowly.

My yorkie, Lacy, has a coarser silky coat. I wouldn't say she's wirey at all but her coat is coarser than it should be. Her hair grows very slow but it is growing... I have been giving her Fish oil/vit. E which seems to help somewhat and she's on a raw diet which has helped as well. Those combined have made her hair a little silker and definitely shinier.
