Will anything make it longer and thicker? Are there any products available that will make angel's hair longer and thicker? The butcher (I mean....groomer) really did a number on her hair a few months ago and instead of getting better it looks worse. I just want it to look good again. Any suggestions? |
I can relate OMG, I just took Jojo to the groomer today. I was so mad I wanted to scream. His coat looked so dry and they didn't do a good job trimming his hair. I know I could have done a better job at home  Now, I spent $40. I don't know about you but that's more than my "do" costs to get done :eyebrow2: That place just lost a customer! And I'm determined to become a yorkie grooming do-it-yourselfer. In the past, I've used natural oils that are sold in the beauty section at Wal-Mart. I apply a little to give his coat a sheen. I've also tried carrot oil (found at beauty supply) and it works well. Just don't put on too much or your baby will look like the Fonz :lol tears |
Heather! I am surprised that admin has not edited your title.... :yelrotflm Or is it my brain in the gutter? :lol tears :lol tears |
LMAO ayyyyyyyyy lol TOO FUNNY! I know how you feel about the groomers. UGH they suck! They butchered my poor angel. Prince got lucky. He came out good but poor, poor angel. :( I goota learn too. I just gotta. I know I can do it if someone shows me how! |

No one knows of any products that will help? EVen just making it thicker would be a drastic improvement! |
I had an answer then I realized you were talking about hair... :) The only thing I've read is that some people give supplements or Vitamins for the hair but I have no experience with it... |

Im not sure who to ask. Vet? Another Breeder? A show dog mommy? |
Omega 3 oil improved Stewie's hair. |

This is soooooooooooo not how I imagined this thread going lol. I thought for a sure there would be a few different options for thinkcinh and length when it comes to YORKIE HAIR lol A couple people posted some ideas, so I may try them. I just want angel's hair to be back the way it was before they butchered her :( |
Well it's been so long since my mind was in the gutter, I almost forgot what that was all about. It's an old saying, but here is the cure all.. for hair growth. It's called TIME. I have heard it all my life, and believe me--it's been a long one too. |
see in all my perverseness..I forgot to tell you what I meant to say....Maximus' hair isn't that long yet..he is still kept in a puppy cut..BUT it is THICK THICK THICK..I use these drops in his food that the breeder gave me..it's coat and skin conditioner and I also give him a vitamin every day..they are both made from health extension..and I got about a years supply from the breeder |
Aside from vitamins...and the way things are these days....can we say Hair Extensions ? :D |
Yeah, but it's been 9 weeks already. Her hair still looks like s***. It's like edward scissor hands got ahold of her after having one to many brewskies. My poor baby :( |

THey made the top of her hair (on her back) like 1/2in. short, while keeping the bottom (by her belly) long. It looks weird and you see more skin then you do hair. |
That's too bad....the good news is it WILL grow - it only takes a few weeks to cover up a bad grooming hjob - wait till it grows in a bit then have it shaped up and it may come in looking better than it was - but didn't you just hate it when you got your first real good look ? They look cute as anything when you first see them - you get home then REALLY start seeing all the mistakes and screwups - I went thru it with both my girls - I've actually been to 5 different groomers and not one did a good yorkie cut ....but it WILL grow back so don't worry too much |
Yes, Once I got home and had a chance to really look at her, I was uphauled. Not to mention the fact that she and Prince got fleas from the groomer's office. Nice huh? I know it takes time, but 9 weeks a long time. If they age 7 times faster, shouldn't their hair grow 7 times faster too? lol I can't do anything to make it look better or even conceal it. It's all choppy :( It\'s like every tom, dick and harry can open a pet salon now. Don\'t they need training? |
