| ![]() Subtitle: Oh, my aching back.... ![]() Subtitle: Bouncing Yorkies! ![]() First of all, let me admit that "sylph-like" was NEVER an adjective that would have been applied to me. I weighed over 9 pounds at birth, and grew proportionately! ![]() Secondly, in addition to down comfortors for winter, we have a "feather tick" on our mattress which we LOVE...not as much as our yorkies, mind you, but it does add to the comfort of the bed. (And when it is time to have the tick cleaned/laundered, the job costs $100. ![]() So, anyway, yesterday our sweet Molly (7 months old next week) went in for her "big girl surgery", and the removal of 10 baby teeth which were giving her the look of a little shark! It had been over three years since we had Maggie spayed, and I had erased from my mind how REALLY hard it is to cold-bloodedly leave them at the vet in the morning! ![]() ![]() Anyway, I picked Molly up at the end of the day. If "pathetic" had a face, she was it! ![]() Now, normally, Maggie sleeps with us in the bed, but Molly and MacKenzie, being babies (7 months, but only with us since the end of April and 3 months, respectively) sleep in crates at the side of the bed. They seem to be fine with this. They don't even cry when put in the crates. Well, I couldn't leave Molly by herself in a CRATE...poor little bunny. And I wasn't really trusting her on the bed (she'd already passed out in the water dish, and nearly drowned...Seriously, she came into the family room with her whole head dripping!). So, Maggie and Molly and little MacKenzie (had to be fair) and I slept on the couch. Now, these are very little dogs (4 pounds, 2.5 pounds and about 2 pounds), but, hey! I am not!!! And, of course, I had to keep very still to keep from disturbing them...Maggie tucked between me and the back of the couch, Molly laying on my diaphragm, and MacKenzie wrapped around my neck! This morning I work up as one BIG CRAMP!!! I don't think we moved all night...I take that back, at some point during the night someone (probably Molly from the volume of it) did get up and have a MAJOR bout of diarrhea on the pillow they use to get up on the couch (It's in the washer now). And, Molly....Well, here she is, less than 24 hours out of surgery, bouncing about as if nothing had ever happened. As she raced across the yard to spy through the fence on the neighbor dogs, I was having to remind her that she is still convelescing. Tonight, she's back in her crate!!!!!!!!! I'm back in my bed, and all is well with the world! Last edited by Figment713; 06-25-2005 at 06:55 AM. |

| ![]() LOL that's the life I lead EVERY night. My babies sleep whenever they want and I try not to disturb them. Because of this, I get an AWFUL pain in my neck and back...but it's all worth it to see them frollicking around with all that energy they get from a good night sleep.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() The things we will do for our babies...my girls do the same thing, they sleep where they like and then I try to get comfortable around them...as I don't want to distrub them!! Even though they are small they somehow seem to take up a lot of room...lol...

| ![]() I loved reading your story! You're right, the things we do for love *sigh* Other than Sully, our yorkie, we have a 3yr old Himalayan/Siamese cat (long hair/calico) named Penny. She's nearly every bit as friendly and loving as Sully....and they both love to sleep with me. Not my husband. But me. So no matter where I sleep, whether it is the bed or the couch, I'm the crazy "Snow White-meets-Dr. Doolittle" girl covered with animals! My husband gets his side of the bed...but somehow I'm always having to adjust my position to accomodate Sully and Penny! So I can totally understand! It's funny trying to picture you sleeping on the couch covered in yorkies!!!! That's just great. But you know....I wouldn't have it any other way. If I didn't have a loving husband, a snoring dog and a purring cat to sleep with...my life just wouldn't be complete. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() P.S. I also understand about waking up to diarhea (did you read my last Sunday's emergency? Yeah, it was gross and my Nautica comforter is still at the dry cleaners. Oh well it needed it anyway. LOL)

| ![]() We've got 5 who like to sleep with us. Matty who will soon go to her new home wants to sleep with us but since she's not staying I can't teach her bad habits, now can I. Pirogue, my 10# bag of sugar, doesn't go to sleep with us but I wake up to him in bed with us, the same with Autumn. Pirogue sleeps with my daughter and Autumn Rose sleeps on the floor under me. I don't know why she wants to go to sleep on the floor or when she gets up on the bed. The 2 little ones Mr. Big and Lacijo try to sleep between our backs and the bed. Mr. Big for me and Lacijo for hubby. We sleep on our sides and when we try to move these little lumps don't make a sound. I had to pull Lacijo out from under my hubby one night and she didn't make a sound. I keep trying to make Lady sleep in the floor(dog bed) with Matty but she's always on the foot of my bed when I wake up. Poor little Matty has to sleep by herself. |
