| Rant about airprices for dogs Hi everyone, got to have a moan I'm afraid! I'm originally from the UK but now live in Madrid, Spain. I wanted to take my Yorkie, Tiny, back for Christmas in the UK so he could meet his english family. He has his passport and there is only one carrier who can take him Madrid to England and we have to fly into London despite living in Manchester. When we called British Airways the price each way for Tiny was 700 euros! 1400 in total! that's 1000 pounds or nearly 2000 dollars! Where do they get off? It's a Yorkshire Terrier not an elephant! |

| That's ridiculous. It's about 150-250 here. Maybe they think you want to fly him first class.

| On this journey the dog does not travel in the cabin, he goes as unaccompanied cargo. It would be cheaper to fly him first class!!! |

| Well we've decided to leave him with my husband's parents, whom he adores, but the children of the family are pretty devasted because they really wanted to meet him. Have decided to make a home video before we travel back called Tiny's Christmas so they can see him open his presents and have a Christmas dinner. |

| That's an outrageous amount. Obviously they don't want pets on board. They charge so much, and that keeps the Yorkies at home. Even in the US they charge too much. $75 to $80 one way, and that's for floor space under a seat! |

| Cost on continental airlines is $50.00, I think the highest price is American $80.00....but even at that, they count as your carryon luggage, which isn't charged and you can't take a piece of carry on luggage.

| Wow that's a lot! I just booked a flight and will be paying $75 each way to bring Madeleine. Her flight is almost as much as mine, I could have gotten her her own seat for another $30!
