				   | Pippa has recently started doing something funny. When we are on our walk in the evening, she gravitates toward a certain strip of grass next to the sidewalk and does what I call "faux pee". She squats like she's peeing and waddles like that for about three steps, then kicks up the grass with her back legs. She looks so darn proud of herself after that. My husband says she's marking-but I didn't know girls did that...anyone know what she's doing?

				   | Lucy marks and kicks up the grass too. When we are out on a walk she will mark where ever she can, a 10 min walk can take an hour with her! |

				   | Gypsy Rose does this and lifts her leg and has done since she was little. She'll "mark" several times on a walk even on a lampost - I find it very funny and say "good boy!" Ana xx |

				   | I have two and they have never done this, I hope they never start, it could take hours to take a walk! When it is time for potty, they sniff, potty and then Lacey heads back inside, no outdoor air for her, only a/c, Chloe then proceeds to chase all the squirrels she thinks she can capture, runs around until I offer her treats to go inside. |

				   | Bridgette marks as well... in fact, she does it whenever she gets the chance! She does the "faux pee" too, but not the kick.

				   | I learned something new. I thought only males will mark. Gucci is pee pad trained and the times I take her outside she usually dont go. The times that she goes she will kick her legs on the grass. I think it looks so funny. I notice that when we go for a walk she will sniff everything but wont go potty. |

				   | I have one that will mark if something is new that she is jealous of. She never has accidents in the house but when my mom's dog first came to visit she went right over to her crate and peed right by it. She has done it in similar instances as well. Tinkerbell will sniff around for a spot in the grass and swing her butt around to get it in just the right spot, same spot everytime. So yes I think they definately do mark! |

				   | I had a female that could lift her leg and pee 4 inches up on a table leg. She marked over every other dog in the house and would always be the last one to come inside....I read once that females that are between 2 males in the uterus and absorbed testosterone. I cannot imagine that small amt would last 6 years. |
