Its killing me-- how do you pronounce Biewer? I was born in Germany so I know how to say it in German, but I can't wrap my mind around the American pronunciation...:animal36 |
I was told it was pronounced Beaver. |
In German you pronounce a w with a v sound, so that makes sense, but the ie gets me mixed up. |
i'll try to type it out, lol. It's sort of like buew-er. with the letter "U" being pronounced as the letter. |
AHA!!! Yes, thank you! Sorry for the silly question, but its been bugging me for days!!!! |
The three breeders I know call them...BEE-VAR...I have no clue what is correct. |
Hello from COLORADO!!! I don't know...I've always pronouced it b-you-er, but I guess it's supposed to be said Bee-vair. http://www.answers.com/biewer |

I used to say bewer but I think you say it Bevaire. |
I was told bee va, but we have Americanized it to Bee ver / Bee Var. I usually tell people they are Beevers and of course they think of the tree chewing animals. |
A gal who lives down from me who shows these German Yorkies says "Beaver". |
LOL-- yes in German it is Bee va, although depending on where you are there could be an emphasis on the r so Bee var isn't that far off. |
Hi Back from Colorado! LOL Where are you?? I am just south of Boulder. |
It kills me because during the time when Biewers where conceived, my Omi and I went to buy a Yorkie from a breeder in Wiesbaden. Does anyone know where in Germany the Biewers were located? |
