| Am I an idiot? Ok, my fiance's parents have a female yorkie (Suzie age 7yrs.) who is not fixed. (irresposible if you ask me). They always want me to bring Sarge (11 weeks) over there to play with her, but get upset and glare at me when he humps her?!!? Uhh... WHAT?! He's a baby!!! ...Do his parts even work yet? Shes not in heat or anything or else I'd be concerned as well, and I doubt he'd be able to "perform" or even knows anyhting about it. Is it even possible for him to impregnate a female at his very young age? P.S. I intend to neuter him at 6 months. (January)

| Well my dear... just think about us humans... if a girl as young at 8 can have a "monthly" and become pregnant.... im pretty sure your pup can do the deed and be sucessful - ya know... Maybe you shouldnt take your pup over there during this time, especially while he's going through his "growing pains".... better to be safe than sorry

| At 11 weeks old he's doing it more out of dominance than anything. Even female puppies will hump sometimes. Even if she was in heat, there is no way he could get her pregnant at 11 weeks...he wouldn't even be able to actually penetrate her at that age. I would be more careful from 4-6 months though until you get him neutered just in case though. I highly doubt a 4 month old could impregnant either but each males maturation rate is a little different so to be extra cautious I would keep him away if she goes into heat

| Thank you for your replies. The whole thing was they neglected to spay her but get mad at me for him humping. I obvioulsy can't get him fixed when he is 11 weeks old. Just reassuring myself that I wasn't being the ignorant one I suppose.

| It may be too late to spay her. She already acts like an old lady, with a couple health issues. They just made a bad decision. His mom actually wanted to breed her to Sarge but shes 7 YEARS OLD!!! Isn't that too old?!? She could die, right? Besides, I have no interest in letting people breed dogs just for fun with no previous knowledge on the task. I'm getting him fixed before she can even think about it.

| Why don't they get her spayed? Is it just a personal choice? I'd keep your little guy away when he get's older. She is definetly too old for a litter.

Lol, I wish I could...It's really awkward knowing more about her dog than she does... They lack current technologies like the internet though, or else I would.

| Yes 7 years old is too old to be bred. Of course it can happen but it shouldn't. Also, a male should be 2 years before being bred so that would make her 9 years old before you could even think about breeding them

| It's my understanding that males can't breed until their testicles drop at around 6 months. |

| well testicles acutally "drop" (ie. move into the scrotum) at around 6 weeks in a normal male puppy. They're still very tiny then but they should be there... Of course, nothing is working at that age though
