| My pug Dakota was just like this. I finally was able to get him to come down with cheese. I gave him a small piece of cheese for every step he came down and guess what...........he made it all the way down! This was just the basement stairs too. He had know prob going up and down the stairs in the house but the basement stairs for whatever reason scared him. They even have carpet because my basement is finished! |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Do your basement stairs have open backs? Izzy won't go up or down any steps that are too step or have open backs. Our basement steps are closed and have carpeting on them so she zips up and down very fast to chase our cats..lol. The cheese might do the trick!
