| At that age its totally normal for him to want to go that often. He is just settling in to a new home and is probably missing his Mom and littermates. If your really worried, take him to the vets. |

| I think it is normal at that age. Once he gets older he will be able to hold it longer. Do you have any pictures of him? I love Dobermans!! I hope to get one next year. Are you going to crop his ears or leave them natural?

| When I bought him they had already cropt his ears. My husband would want it if they didnt so we would have. I will have to get some pictures for you. This is suppose to be my husband dog. He wants me to do all the potty and stuff but dont want me to get to close to him becauses he wants him to like him. My yorkies love him but always by me when we are togther. I think he is afraid that will happen with his dog. Well I dont know if it will but I am the main care giver time will tell. |

| whose dog is it? Quote:
If your husband wants the Dobie to be "his" dog, he needs to be the caregiver, feed him, walk him, bathe him, discipline him, train him. Otherwise, I think the Dobie will attach to you! | |

| I agree. Dobies tend to bond strongly with the one special person and that will most likely be the one who is his primary caregiver. |

| My husband wants to be the one to walk and feed him and play with him. He wants me to take him out for potty and basicaly watch him while he is at work. Some have said that they will decided who he attach to and no matter what we do it wont matter other says what you both have said. I know about yorkies not doberman. I love him so much already so when hubby gone i spend time with him. How can you not Hubby gets on the floor with him and play with him and plays with him I can not. I have just had shoulder surgery. Last night we went for a short walk and he did ok hubby walked him I was with him. But we had him loose in the yard but as we were walking he was walking on my side not hubby. Hubby felt hurt but I am not trying to make him mine. I understand what my hubby feelsI have 2 yorkies that are mine he loves them but he wants a guy dog now he has one he just want it to be loyal to him. any imput pleases. |

| Your husband needs to understand that you can't do all the "work" associated with a puppy and expect the puppy to bond to him. Especially since you are the one that is at home, and sees you the most. The dogs will recognize you as the alpha dog, and most likely see your husband as just a play friend. |

| What if my husband takes over at night. I am trying to get hubby to take him out for potty when he home but he will sometimes and durning the night he wont I do. But if he cares for him at night by him self and I am gone a couple to a few hours sometimes durning the day would that be enough? I asked hubby do you want me to keep him in his crate and just let him out to potty till you come home you could be cruel and do that. He said no just dont bond and play with him alot while im gone yea right lol. He just to cute. |

| If you're his main care giver he's going to get attached to you. Tell hubby he'll have to step up his part, or there's little chance he will bond to him.

| I would also suggest that your husband do obedience training with him. Dobies are such a dream at obedience and that will strengthen the bond between them. |

Hubby trying to bond with him at night. He just dont like all the work that goes with it. I dont care who he bonds woith more.Zeus blanket was a little wet so I think he did pee while he slept and I know he did when I put him in th crate while I did errands but he trying. |
