Purebred or not?? **PICS** 3 Attachment(s) For those that read my thread about being less than happy about the puppy I picked up yesterday, these pictures are probably something you wanted to see. Even if you didn't read that thread, I need help on deciding if he's purebred or not. I have my doubts. Just examine them...his body structure...looks...legs....all that. Let me know what you think. the CKC registration means nothing. Thank you so so much....they can be a little blurry, but this one doesn't sit still....and he was chasing the cats off of the bed :( (That's one of our problems now.) |
He looks it to me. His big ears are just cute! He seems to be getting along with one of your cats which is good, right? :) |
I think he looks 100% yorkie! He is SO cute! I love his little face. |
He's so cute!!! He looks like a yorkie to me. There are quite a few yorkies on this forum that look sort of like that. Sometimes a yorkie's ears don't stand up all the way, but that doesn't make him less of a yorkie. That face is so sweet :) It looks like he's in a puppy cut, but his hair will grow. Yorkies can really look different with short hair than they do with long hair. |
hope its going better today... but I think he`s got the cutest face ;) I`m sure he will turn out adorable... it depends on the energy you communicate to him. Don`t forget, he will feel what you feel ;) I`m not a Yorkie expert but he looks purebred.... but it is impossible to say if you didn`t see the parents! Good luck! |

Then he has been chasing the other kittie off the bed a lot too...I hate that. :( I just want everybody to get along.... |
He's still a puppy, so he might grow out of chasing the cats. |
He is adorable..how old is he?? |
looks like a yorkie to me. very cute. You can always trim his ears to match the rest of his cut and let it all grow out together. Bring him to the groomer and ask him to tip the ears. as for the cats, when he goes to chase one or bark, tell him no and distract him away from the cats with an even better game or treat. |
he is SO CUTE! Reminds me of my tootie... he looks like he has personality PLUS! Good Luck, love him up for us! d |

very good! when he's sitting with the cats peacefully reward him with a yummy treat and tell him what a good boy he is. my friend has a dog that used to hate the cats. then she started rewarding the pup for being with the cats. she'd pet them both and say 'be nice to the kitty'. now whenever she says that the dog runs over to the cat and give him a kiss (can't say the kitty is happy about it but its better then before LOL) |
If you mean CKC as in Continental Kennel Club, he may or may not be a purebred. I have seen crosses that could pass as a Yorkie and as the Continental Kennel Club will register a dog based on pictures, a cross might have been in the background of this pup. Big ears can happen in PB yorkies. These are a little larger on this pup than I have seen however, if the ears are shaved all the way down to the bottom, the ears will look huge. The pictures are too blurry to really tell the size of the ears and how far down they are shaved. I don't know how much you paid for him, I hope it was not really big bucks. I am sure however, he will be a nice pet for you to love. |

He looks all yorkie to me. I think his legs look longer because of the short haircut. I know when Susanah is wet her legs look longer too. I think he is absolutely 100% adorable! |
I also wanted to comment on the ear size too. Susanah has larger ears as well and I know for an absolute fact she is 100% PB yorkshire terrier. |
He's 100% adorable to me!:D |
2 Attachment(s) ****************UPDATE****************** Here's a couple more!! Maybe they show more what I'm talking about... |
He just looks like a yorkie with a short hair cut to me...once the hair grows in I dont think you will have any doubts that he is a yorkie...looks like the groomer gave him a Shih Tzu cut..with the long hair on the ears...tip them and see if he looks different...I think he is just plain cute!!!!! I agree. He looks just like a yorkie with a short haircut to me too. I think he's just precious. |
looks all yorkie to me :) watch...once his hair grows...he will be beautiful!!! |
......I agree w all the advice you're getting....I think you have to be more particular if you are going to breed or if you paid too much but as a pet he is adorable....what a face....and if he WASN'T chasing the cats I would worry........I personally think it's fun to watch if they aren't being terrorized of course but especially in the first introductions that is totally normal....but you train them the way you want them....that's why they need us....my poor little Bella chihuahua was able to chase them up their playstation all the time....now she'll charge into the room and run up to them like they're going to run and they just basically yawn in her face....it's so humiliating!.....it is nice that you are being concerned for them because they WERE there first and they're your babies and here comes the intruder but eventually if you do it right they will all benefit from each other...........all the best......and BTW my yorkie Millee was born w LP (bought her from a friend who bought her from a pet store...not good) and she is bow legged....looks like a little bull dog when you view her straight on...but I wouldn't trade her for all the gold in the world......she IS my world......... |

looks all yorkie to me ! |
He looks yorkie to me also, I really love his face, he is a cutie |
i dont understand how it wasnt love at first sight, hes adorable. as for the cat chasing, hes an energetic puppy, he can't helkp it and hopefully he'll grow out of it. he's definetly 100% yorkie though:) |
Looks 100% yorkie to me. As for the long ears, my Toto has long floppy ears too but I think that just adds to his personality. If the wind get under them, he's a gone! :D |
He absolutely looks ALL Yorkie to me, and a cutie at that! His ears might come up if all that hair is removed and then they might not but he wouldn't be the only 100% Yorkie to have droopy ears. I would get them cut to match the rest. I think in time he'll be a perfect boy. If he is too hyper for you I would invest a litle time in toys that intrest him and some time wearing him out yourself. A bored puppy is a busy one but if you take the time to wear him out some he will be a little calmer. :) If all else fails...send him here we'll love him! LOL ;) Kim |
