I commend you for your honesty, but maybe he'd do better in a different home and then you'd be free to find one that melts your heart - maybe that would be the win-win for all. Good luck. :) |
Regardless of how good of a deal he was if you didn't like him you shouldn't have bougth him. I think your being very unfair to him, and need to give him a break. How would you feel if someone picked you up and dropped you in unfamiliar surroundings. If you really don't like him I'd find him a good forever home. |

LOL!!!... I just saw this, Twalla & Co-Yorkie Momma, you made me laugh!!! Now, I want to be alone-----move over.. |
This is only my second post (I tend to lurk a lot :p ), and so I hate to be rude, but I fell horrible for that little guy. As others have said, dogs pick up on emotions very easily. He knows you don't like him. It makes me very sad to think about him being moved from home to home. Then he comes to you, and you don't like him. Mostly because of the way he looks. You seem to be using your cats as a scapegoat for the real issue, i.e. your superficiality. I just hope for the dog's sake that the next home he finds is a forever home who will love him even if his hair never grows and he grows up to be a 20 pounder. Sorry to be a jerk, but my heart breaks for that little guy and all he's been put through. Edit: I guess I should go sit by jp4m2. :P |
personally i think your just going by looks . you knew he had a puppy cut & you knew you didnt like that hairstyle which makes no sense since it grows back quickly pOor dog i hope he finds a home where someone doesnt care about looks |
Did you get to see the dog before you took him? If you don't feel you can give him all the love in the world, then I would find another very loving home for him. Actually, I would recommend turning him over to a reputable yorkie rescue so that they can find him the perfect home. Do you have any pictures of this baby? |
Don't feel bad. Sometimes there just isn't the connection and you can't make yourself feel something you don't. Maybe you can keep him until you can find him a really great home? Even if you have to give him away for free? I could be wrong, but it seems like you've lost a yorkie(by your posting name)? When you have a pet that you really loved sometimes the next pet just doesn't measure up to the first one. It's not something you can explain, it's just a feeling. There was a lady on here who's pet had died(well, it turned out differently) but she got a puppy and wasn't happy because it was too soon and it wasn't the dog she loved. She felt horrible giving it back but NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON could blame her. A new pet should make you happy and the new pet should be happy. I always feel if both parties aren't happy then it's best to rehome them and find that special connection. Maybe while you're trying to find him a home you'll bond but if that doesn't happen, don't beat yourself up. Sometimes it takes a dog a few different homes until they find that perfect match. It's not like you said you were going to take him to the pound, geeze. It's not the end of the world for him or you. Plus, with him being young it'll be easier for him to adjust. Good luck and cheer up. |
Where has the OP gone? Maybe to take the dog back? I did the same thing once. A supposedly "show breeder' sold me a yorkie over the phone with the most awesome pedigree, after I had seen pictures of her. We both drove quite a ways and met in the middle. When she showed me the dog in her back seat, I thought, OMG, that dog was the size and structure of some of my hubby's largest beagles. I didn't have the heart to tell the breeder I didn't want her, plus she looked like she could really use the money. I brought her home and it was disaster. Clearly, she had been a kennel dog. She was young and sweet, loved to run and play. Only problem, my little dogs were getting hurt with her playing so rough and they couldn't get out of her way. I kept her two weeks then re-homed her for the good of everyone. I will never buy a dog again because I feel sorry for someone. |

The dog most likely came from a pet shop so he probably hasnt had much human contact so give him time. |
