It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | I have three and I love having them in bed with me...but I have one that is only 3.5 months and 1.8# and he can't get up and down off the bed. He has never fallen but... He will go potty at the end of my bed if I don't wake to put him down. So until they are all trained I'm putting them in the puppy area at night.

| I would probably just wait til he's a bit older to let him sleep in the bed.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have a ramp on the side of my bed and I trained them from the beginning to only go up and down to get on or off the bed and they can get to their pads during the night if they need to. I think Cali was 5 months old before Ilet her in bed. I got Pixie at 13 months but she wasn't trained yet but she would stay on the bed all night since she was older.

| Both of mine sleep with me, but its just me in a queen size bed. But if BF is here it gets a little crowded. Dakota has used the bathroom one night in my bed, now she knows that if she wakes me up and kisses me then I will get up and take her out, smart little girl she has never fell off, luckly. |

| I've slept with mine since the day I brought him home now he sleeps curled up on my chest and tucked into my arms when I sleep on my sides. I never get a good nights rest b/c I'm so worried about squishing him but I love that he lays with me like my real life stuffed animal and I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING ! |

| I had Gracie in bed with me from day one, at 8 weeks. I too worried about her falling off. I put her in a small zip up Ferret carrier, right next to me. It served double duty as a crate which really helped with potty training. She would wake up and fuss when she needed to go. She never cried because she was right next to me and could see me. Once she mastered the puppy steps, she was potty trained and the carrier now waits for Gracie's new sister (some day!)

| Winstin has slept with us since he was 2 1/2 months. He has not jumped down. I cut his water an hour or two before bed and he does not have accidents. I will say I am just now starting to sleep because I worried about him so much. I just think waking up to him is awesome and he is always full of love and kisses. Plus we get to hog the bed two weeks a month because hubby works swing shift.

| All 3 of mine slept in the bed from day one, I do not worry about rolling over on them, its like a motherly instinct, always knowing where they are. I have a mattress on the floor so I know they can't fall off. |

| What I did with all of mine was to surround them on 3 sides with pillows and sleep with my head right next to them. That way if they try to get off the bed, they have to step over you; and usually if they do get up it is because they have to go to the bathroom. We have had a couple of accidents, but for the most part they were all perfect! Yorkies just love to be with you all the time and the more that you can accommodate that, the happier they are going to be. They really acclimate very quickly and I think it solidifies the bond you have with them. Also all of mine were a pound when I got them. Good luck with your decision. |
