| max no shunt but a very tinny tinny liver as you guys may know that my baby max does not have a liver shut they are waiting to the biopsy test to know for shure if its mvd i have a ? hes on quit a few pills through the day know hes sneeky and holds then in his mouth and them wilol spit them out so i put the pill in a surenge of water and waitl till it disolves the give it is this okay does he still get the same thing from it or wolud crushing it in as spoon and givivg it be better hes on metroidizole ,pepic,vE,milkthisle,and metroazapine then his others are liqued ALso he has a liver that is 2 times smaller then it should be so what does that really mean ? |

| Crushing most of the pills is fine, but if you give Sam-E or denosyl, you can NOT crush the pill. It has to be given whole and on an empty stomach. The fact that his liver is smaller is probably because it has atrophied probably due to liver disease...

| Oh, Poor Max. My Diesel has MVD and is on supplements and a special low protein diet. He is doing great though. Is Max on a special diet also? There is another group for MVD/ Liver Shunt babies that has a lot of valuable information if you are interested. They will be able to answer all your questions and you can really learn a lot there.
