| How often to feed puppy? How often do you feed your puppies and at what weight do you not have to worry about hypoglycemia? We were feeding ours 3 times a day but she didn't eat much of it. I now give it to her twice a day and shes eating almost all of it. I also give her a finger tip of nutrical in the afternoon. Does this sound okay. Last edited by suej; 09-25-2007 at 08:32 AM. |

| I would feed a puppy atleast three times a day (personally I would probably do four for the first few months for my own peace of mind).

| I'd feed three times a day. See how he/she does on that schedule. If he/she isn't each meal I'd cut it back.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | If your concerned about Hypo many mini meals throughout the day are VERY beneficial...mine suffers from Hypo and had seizures from it...I had to feed him every 3-4 hours....I always had food available for him to eat as well...I did the nutrical thing and sometimes its just not enough. Try giving baby carrots, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese as a snack along with rice mixed with baby food or canned food to entice him to eat. Complex carbs is what you are looking for that do not break down so easily and keeps the sugar more regular in his blood. These tiny guys have a hard time regulating thier own sugar But with the mini meals and lots of them your baby should be okay! Are you feeding a premium food?? Thats also another key to the hypo issues.

| I do three times a day along with nutrical 3 times a day, for the first couple weeks. Then I would start to give nutrical once a day, but continue feeding 3 times for a while. |

| when mine were puppies, they had food all the time, cause i work long hours, so they always had a bowl of water with sugar in it, bowl of dry food, and puppy treats on the floor, and when i came home i made them chicken and rice....
