| After the nice post yorkies, yorkies, everywhere. How worried are you with your baby I know I live in a big city and I dont even walk off the block with her in fear another dog owners might be off the leash or stray. I also heard about people stealing yorkies from your hand from a woman at Target that has one also. I normally go out with her odd hours when no one can scope her out and see a yorkie is in my house or know our pattern. She is not allow in the back yard alone only if I am in the kitchen doing something with the big door open and I can see her though the screen door. Am I over paranoid? Nuts? Crazy? I know even with the big dogs in my past I always had a fear of them running out the door. I had huskeys when I was younger that were runners and I was always extra careful with them. Now that I got the dog that I always wanted am I being way to crazy with her or just very careful?? |

| we live in a very small neighborhood, but you never know, anything can happen. we keep our big front door open during the day, and the storm (clear) door closed . Sammy (our 85 pound guard dog) is ALWAYS sitting at the door when Caden is playing by himself or sleeping . when Caden is looking out the door, Sammy is right next to him . when Caden wants to play with sammy and sammy hears a noise, he nudges Caden behind the couch and goes to see what the sound was. he's VERY overprotective of Caden when they're in the house . he feels its his job to do so . so we rarely worry about him in the house . they go outback together, and when Sammy isnt out there, me or my mommy are . but im still overprotective of what he eats and what he plays with, so im pretty darn paranoid heeheee =] what would we do without sammy

| Thanks guys. I just fear so much that someone is going to try to steal her from me. I live in Philly. My area is good but I have alot of lil girls that knock on my door for her to come out and play. She is always on her leash and they are only allowed to pet her on my lap. I just fear that she is so noticed in the neighborhood by lil girls that someone might want to get her. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am super paranoid. I don't leave windowa open when were not home, I live in a ranch with low windows, I don't let workmen who are in the house see them, they of course can here that I have dogs but i don't want them to see what kind. The other day my husband and I took Cali and Pixie to this huge park, woods lake area and we were just getting ready to go back to our car and I saw a couple drive up with a big dog in their truck. I said to my husband lets pick them up, just as I said that there big Visla dog comes running towards us. My husband was ahead of me and couldn't get to us before the dog so I am frantically grabbing both dogs up and I yell to the owner I have small dogs here, he calls the dog which doesn't listen to him of course. His gf says where's his leash? He says at home. It got me so mad he didn't even say sorry. I thing the dog was just being friendly but it scared me just the same.

| I'm always very protective of Jake because you just never know. He is never outside alone, and I don't even take him to PetSmart or other pet stores anymore. I never have him in our front yard, only in the back. He never tries to run outside alone, so I don't worry about that. It's ridiculous that we have to be afraid, but I don't want to take any chances!

| I took my boys out front for the first time today. I made hubby go with me. We live in a brand new subdivision. Our street is almost filled up. There are workers going up and down the streets regulary. I am worried that someone will take them too. Can not go out back cuz we have no yard yet...lol...It is all red dirt and some weeds. Besides, they are just now starting to build on the street behind us and anytime I walk out back, they always stop and see what I am doing. We have gone to the parks on the River(Brazos) but have seen people let their pets off leash and I am not taking a chance.... So what is one suppose to do?

| Wow! that really is extreme. Chip would get cabin fever if I stopped taking him out. He loves going to the stores and sniffing everything, seeing other dogs, and the car ride too. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I was just talking to my kids about the rules for when Jeter comes home. I told them NOT to advertise that we have a Yorkie at all. I don't want every Tom, Dick, and Harry knowing that we have him. I also said that it is no ones business to know how mush he cost us. Also he is NOT allowed outside unless we are with him.We live downtown but we live in a great area! My backyard runs into the Catholic School. But we have a people walking past our house to go to the library or the downtown shops and bars. You never can be too safe with these little dogs. People see them and they see $$$$! |

| I must be crazy to because I fear and trust no one around my puppies. I told my mom when she takes them out to be careful, I'm glad yorkies aren't popular in my neighborhood yet. But I will fight to the end to save mines from being taken. So when someone reaches to touch them, I say be careful they may bite you.
