We use the pads. They are great because if you go somewhere you only have to bring a pad along. I did initially think the litter box would be better but Teddi was just way too small to use it and didn't like it so I guess it depends on the size of your dog.

We use the pads as well. Before we picked up Charlie from the breeder, the manager at PetSmart recommended the litter box. Charlie is doing great on the pads now, so we decided not to switch over to the litter box. Also, since we plan to travel with him, we thought the pads would be easier. He's doing great with peeing on the pads. Going potty on the pads is a hit and miss sometimes, not sure why. We also take him outside and he goes there as well.
