| I have a new man in my bed!! We are not 100% potty trained yet, but we're doing pretty well. BUT we moved on to a new milestone. I'm letting Coby start to sleep in the bed. I've explained to him that it comes with a LOT of rules.... no playing, straight to sleep, and no getting up in the middle of the night. Any playing around and he goes right back into the kennel by the bed. And just so he doesn't sneak away, he's on a leash tied to my arm. He's only had to go back to the kennel once in the past 5 nights! He is trying to decide if he wants to sleep on my side or between my hubby and me. (Reggie sleeps at the foot of the bed always). Sounds silly, but I'm so excited!! Does anyone worry about their hubbies rolling over onto their furbabies??

| The leash works okay.. there's plenty of slack in it and I'm a fairly light sleeper, don't toss and turn too much. But potty training is all about making sure there are limited chances for accidents. I can't take the chance of him finding a corner he likes in the middle of the night that I don't find out about. As soon as I can trust that he'll stay in the bed, we'll be fine. It's how I trained my Shi Tzu. And since Coby turned 6 months and was nuetered, he is soooo cuddly. So although we were supposed to wait until potty training was completed, I couldn't wait any longer. Hard thing to believe was that my husband agreed!!

| In the time I have had Winstin, over month now, he has slept with us. Needless to say I wake up very easily and check on him. We are still potty training but, he has done great at night. We go to bed around 11 or 12 and he sleeps until somewhere between 5-7. He loves to snuggle in between our two pillows, so I do not worry about us rolling over on him but him suffocating. When he does need to potty he just licks my neck til I wake up. I try to cut his water about one to two hours before bed. That has worked great. I never let the big girls sleep with us because they are big and they shed. Having him in bed is so much fun because of the cuddles.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It is so exciting when they can sleep in the big bed!! I would be concerned about the leash getting around or across his neck.

| Jake has been sleeping with hubby and me since day one, and we have never had any problems with him whatsoever. He curls up next to me and goes right to sleep. He has to be touching me at all times when we sleep lol. My husband is a pretty sound sleeper and doesn't move around much, so I don't worry about him rolling over on Jake. I love having him all cuddled up next to me, he's so sweet. Leaving a leash on Coby all night kinda worries me though. I'd be afraid to try that, but I'm pretty over protective. Enjoy!

| Now you all have me worrying about the leash. But he wears a halter and he doesn't move around at all, so I've never had a reason to even worry about it until now. It's just to keep him from getting out of bed by himself. If he moved around a lot, I know I would have thought to be worried. Even with my older dog. I may have to rethink it now. But how else can I ensure he doesn't get out of bed in the middle of the night in case I wouldn't wake up? He's only tried it once, so he might be okay without the leash. ...... hmmmmmm..... now you have me thinkin'.........

| All 3 of mine have slept in my bed since day one, they are very good in there and wait to go potty until I get up. I would be worried about the leash idea. |

| I love mine sleeping in bed with me. Both Piper & Sebastian sleep on the bed. Penny actually prefers her crate, and will cry if I try to let her sleep on the bed. Go figure.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | I have three in bed with hubby and me and another one coming home next month. There is always room for one more. My youngest is 3.5 months right now and can't get off the bed right now so I worry that he'll pee on the bed. He has done it when I first brought him home, but he was only 9 weeks then. He has let me know a couple of time to put him down to go potty then he comes back and winnes beside me.

| I bet you are so excited! I always feel bad at night after Bella has been playing with all of us and then we start winding it down......I hate taking her to her "room." She doesn't seem to mind, but I would just love to cuddle with her in bed.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy just started to sleep with us a few weeks ago because my husband was petrified that he would roll over on her and smoosh her! But that hasn't been the case - she usually sleeps between us or on my side and I'm a light sleeper so I'm careful and aware of where she is. She has not had one accident in our bed but then again she never had an accident in her sleep crate either from day one. We sorta alternate between our bed and her crate (weekends or off days she's in the bed and worknights in her crate)...I guess I don't want Izzy to stop getting used to sleeping in her crate because there will be times when she'll have to. Not sure about the leash thing - if you are a light sleeper then you would feel him moving so try it without the leash - I'm more worried if something woke you up suddenly and forgot the leash was attached to you and go flying off the bed...lol.

| I would be worried about the leash thing to. Our bed sits up higher so I just put Winstin between us and that works. He has went to the edge of the bed a couple times and looks at me like no way, its to far down. This morning we got up at five, went potty and he snuggled back up against me and slept til 9:30. I think Jason likes him sleeping with us because I have this thing that if I am not right up against Jason, I can not sleep. Since Winstin came home Jason has space to himself. Winstin has all the cuddles I need.
