| Yorkie Coats Can anyone tell me the best way to keep a Yorkie's coat free from tangles and matting I brush him every day with a detangling comb and soft brush. His coat is pretty good the day of a bath (with extensive conditioner) but quickly mats up throughout his day of activity. I look forward to your suggestions! |

| this is what I do but my pup does have a silky coat so if your is cottony, I'm not sure if it would work. 1st I use a pretty good shampoo and conditioner. Then after she's all rinsed, I do a final rinse of about a cup of warm water with a capful of emu oil. After that, I do not rinse at all. Her coat might look a little oily for the first day or so but looks good after that and the best part is not a matt. I bathe her once every 4 or 5 days (although once I went 9 days and still no matts!) I do not brush at all in between! I also use an isinis brush which works very well. I did not learn all of this on my own but from others here on yt. Good luck! |
