| need some help please I got an email from my mom that ever since I left from visiting there my grandparents want a yorkie. They live in northern NJ and have tried to go to the shelters but they were turned down because they don't have a fenced yard. My mom tried to get one for them and she was turned down because she works. They want one that's older and ready to just lay around with them. Does anyone have or know of anyone that has an older yorkie for sale? Even one that is down here in alabama or close by, my brother will be coming down here in october and can take the baby back home.

"a fenced yard and stay at home people" are more important than a loving heart???? None of us would be able to get a dog then, most of us have to work ....and not everyone has a home with a fenced in yard ... sheeesh!!!!

| Sheesh. I also live in Northern NJ, and I personally know how difficult it is to adopt a dog from a shelter around here. My neighbor tried to do this, and was repeatedly turned down. I often joked with her that it would have been easier trying to adopt a child. Tell them to keep an eye on the papers. The Star Ledger has a large online classified section. I oftentimes will see "free to good home" pets on there. Good luck to them!

| Will do! If they only want a yorkie, it may be harder to find one. If they're open to other small dogs, then it may work out. I'll let you know!

| The newspapers are a good source for an older dog. I know adopting through a shelter can be very exhausting mentally and physically, but I guess their trying to ensure the pup will have a good forever home. I don't think I've ever seen an application that didn't ask if you have a fenced yard for safety reasons. Now the being home all day is kind of crazy.

| I wanted to thank you for all of your help. I am not going to be able to get my grandparents a yorkie right now. He was just diagnosed with Parkinsons. Does anyone know about this disease personally? I looked it up online but it's so much medical info and right now my brain is going in too many directions to try to understand it.

| Did you try putting a post in the Yorkie wanted forum? You may have more luck there.
