Maybe the lady could put an ad in the paper stating that her dog was stolen and telling anyone if someone tries to sell them a yorkie to contact her. Sometimes these people work out of their cars, you never know. It's a terrible thing when it's come down to this to make money. Scum of the earth is what I call them. I hope she gets her little one back somehow, but spreading the word is the best way. Make sure she contacts the police. I guess we just have to take canes with us when we walk our babies so we have some protection. I'd beat the crap out of them  ... |

That's awful! I mean, right from her lap?! That's ballsy. I hope she is able to somehow find the dog. What is this world coming to?? |
My Worse Nightmare omgsh i was just thinking about that yesterday .... my doggie is so friendly and cute that he loves EVERYBODY ... only once did he really not take to one neighbor of mine but other than that ... he can be snatched up and gone ... i dont think ill take any chances and let him off is leash once he starts walking out in the street. too much of a risk i believe :( i would go CRAZY if someone took him from me! |
 I read the post about the stolen Yorkie to Patrick and he was sooo upset! He won't even let Toto & me sit in the car at night, if we have to pick up something from the store, in a well-lighted parking lot in front of the grocery store! He will drive us all the way home and go all the way back to the store! We have a very large "homeless" population here in Grand Junction and he knows that I just don't think about being cautious, as a rule! A couple of hours after I read the post to him, he got my little pistol from it's case, put the clip in and told me not to leave the house without it!! He said "I don't mean put it in the trunk either!" After thinking about what he said, I guess it's a good idea ... I am small [4'10"] and he's always afraid someone will harm me and he's even worse since we have Toto! You just can't be too careful. And yes, I do know how to use the pistol and no, if I knew someone had intentions to harm Toto, I would now hesitate! I have a permit and it is recognized in Colorado. I feel so badly for the lady whose baby was stolen and pray that she will be able to find him! |
That would be even worse than the death of a baby. Not knowing would drive me crazy! |

The good thing about tattooing is that you know right away that the dog is yours... The good thing about microchipping is that your pup's info is on a nationwide register! Has anyone ever done both? |
stolen dog That is so sick and pathetic! I am getting my yorkie microchipped on the day I get her. I can't afford to let something like this happen. That is so sad for that poor woman. Ugh!!! |

Oh my gosh! That is absolutely horrible, and I am so sorry to hear that. I am always so protective of Duke, and everyone thinks that I am silly, but I always have Duke wear his harness when we are in public places for that same reason. I hope that this woman is able to find her baby, and it just breaks my heart that she is going through this. |
I can't believe that someone could be that bold! To walk up and take the dog off of her lap. I feel so sorry for your Aunt, hopefully everything will turn out to be ok. |
Fourdez - where in Florida was that at? I am terrified of someone taking Honey. Yorkies get a lot of attention when they are out (and Honey is no different) because they are so cute and small. It is hard to distinguish between someone who is just admiring her and someone who might be tempted to take her! |
This story made me scared! I sure hope your Aunt gets her furbaby back soon. But you sharing this story has increased my awareness of the dangers lurking outside. I just made a vet appointment to have my puppies microchiped. I wasn't going to do it because I didn't think it was necessary, but after hearing your story I thought that I should take all possible precautions. |

Macy will be microchipped soon and i am thinking of tattooing her as well. My shepherd is tattooed and he will be getting microchipped the same time macy is. I like the tattooing because you do know right away especially cause some small towns dont have those devices to read the chip. I cant believe the nerve some of these people have to just walk up and snatch a dog like that. I feel so bad for her. When we go walking we usually have both dogs with us so i dont think anyone would mess with us when the shep is around. |
