Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Peroxide to induce vomiting Say dog eats a pill, or something they shouldn't have and you catch it right away, can you use peroxide to induce vomiting on anything or is there certain things you cannot use the for? When Diggy ate chocolate my vet told me dosage and said to give it to make him empty stomach, it worked in like 1-2 minutes. I just read a thread where a baby had grabbed and swallowed an advil tablet, could peroxide have been used to get that out of his stomach being she seen it happen and knew he just swallowed it and none had been digested?

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I don't know the answer to your question but wanted to point out....inducing vomiting isn't used for everything. I think it would be best to call the vet's or check with the pet poison hotline before inducing vomiting.

I know for sure you use it if your dog has eaten chocolate and you catch it within a half hour.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Bella had snagged up my sons Flintstone vitamin when she was a little baby like 14 weeks....I was soooo scared Vet was not open and I called poison control # they were not very helpful she was like well if there was Iron in it that might be bad....Im like Okay well how bad what does that mean?? She said when does your vet open?? I said in an hour she said well call them when they open, Id have felt much better getting the vitamin out of her. Vet said she was okay but still I was not happy I sat and stared at her all day freaking myself out. I even called in sick that day well hopefully someone will read this thread and it can help a baby out some day!

| If the furkid accidently eat something acid/chemical, it's not a good idea to indulce vomit... BUT if it's a pill, chocolate, poison, etc you can indulce vomit... AND it's better be done at the first 5 minutes since you saw him/her eating it... Another thing, besides peroxide, you can use is salt... - just throw a little bit of it in the back of the throat and you'll get the response right away... |

Yeah, household cleaner and some plants can cause burns when in touch w/ skin and inside organs... I usually use salt to indulce vomit because it's something easy to find in any house... And I've always got a FAST result... | |
