| Kibble strike.... Violet has been finnicky with the kibble, and I've tried many kinds. The two that she seems to like best are (1) Innova and (2) Royal Canin. However, starting Saturday she has just refused to eat kibble of ANY kind! She is 16 weeks old, and is 3 lbs. even. Finally last night I got out a can of Innova puppy wet food and mixed in some Royal Canin kibble and she ate it right up. Now today, nothing again. I REALLY want her to just be on a good kibble for her diet if possible. And I don't want to introduce her to wet food, or home cooked food if it's not something I see myself being able to keep up with in the long run. Any suggestions of what I should do? I assume she'll eat if she gets hungry enough, right? Or is that a dangerous assumption on my part? I have Nutrical, and am going to give her some of that right now. How long is too long to wait for her to get hungry enough to just eat it? Thanks in advance!

| Welcome to my world!!! Momiji is the same way except she would only eat Royal Canin... I understand your view of not wanting wet food or home cooking. I felt the same but now I give her chicken on the weekend. She is a year old and she has been picky eater ever since I got her. So weekdays she won't eat much until she gets really hungry. Then she will finish up all the kibble!! She is a healthy girl without any health problem so I didn't worry about it. But since your baby is young, you may want to give little wet food here and there to promote her to eat!!! But watch it, Momiji will pick out the kibble and eat only wet food.... |

| I went throught the same thing with Max. I tried many different foods an hewould like them then not eat it after 2-3 days. I have come to realize 2 things, one- he will eat when hes hungry and two- he goes through changes like we do. sometimes he eats alot sometimes hes not very hungry. My advice to you would be do not keep changing foods. that just makes them more picky...believe me I learned the hard way when shes hungry she will eat

| Thank You Thank you so much you guys! This is what I suspected, but I want to make sure I do my homework. I am constantly questioning myself with this dog! I just want *so* much to be a good dog mommy to her and not do anything that puts her in danger! I realized after I posted this that I probably should have posted in the forum for diet. I'm apologize about that!

| no problem :-) it did take awhile with Max to get him to see that was the food he was getting and thats it lol. He was so use to me putting down a new food that he already knew if he didnt eat it would worry me and i would go out and try something new...little stinker. But now he eats all his kibble cuz he knows thats all Im giving him lol I know u worry about her and its on your mind when you see she hasnt eaten her kibble but if she is healthy and just being picky she will not starve herself. Just choose one good quality kibble and stick to it, you said she has eaten innova I would stick to giving her that since you already know she ate it which means she likes it. and it is better than royal canine.
