Talk about rude or ignorant people. I was having my nails done and talking about my little girl yorkie who's since passed on. She had just had surgery and I was telling someone that if the surgery didn't work we would have no choice but to put her to sleep. My manicurist said to me--"Can't you breed her before you put her down, my daughter wants a free yorkie? I regret not telling her to go to h**l. Since then I haven't been asked about her there and quite frankly I haven't brought it up because, I think it will dishonor her to have her discussed by them. But if she does, I am letting her have it!!!! How's that for insentitive?

Lacy's 7lbs and I've gotten a couple comments about her being big (even though she's pretty normal sized to me)..it's usually when she's around her two yorkie friends that are 3lbs so she does look big compared to them. I've just realized that a lot of people are stupid and don't think before they speak...and most of the time they are making comments about something that they don't even know about. People who don't know a yorkie from a shih tzu try to tell you your dog is too big... Dumb

| I think it's time we made up a great story for when people comment about our "humongous" yorkies. My father used to tell people that he'd been shot 6 or 7 times after he told them he was from NYC, and they would ask if he was scared to live there. It shut them right up. Let's see - how about something to do with how rare the larger Yorkies are, and that they go for at least $4000. Very hard to get too. There's a wait list and they're only imported from Tahiti. They're the wave of the future! Tahitian Terriers. Even PH can't get one. She's not eligible. She has a criminal record.

I have a rude person story also. I was walking through...well what do ya know...Petco. And there was a traing class going on so, I was carrying my past Yorkie Cheyenne so that she could see the other dogs. She was so cute and all of the people in the class stopped to admire her. The trainer said very rudely "see that's how you make little dogs mean a nippy, you're not supposed to carry them all the time." I was soooo mad! My dog was the sweetest thing that I had ever known, she was NEVER nippy and I had carried her for more than half of her life. Needless to say, I will never take my dog to a Petco traing class as I think the trainers are a bit uninformed about some things. (Hope I didnt offend anyone or Petco .)

Some People I get this with Lucy too. She's about 11 lbs and has floppy ears. Sometimes people just tell me how cute she is and others mention her "faults." I just tell them that they're being rude and that if Lucy had been a child, they would never even think of mentioning such things to the child's parent. They usually get really embarrassed and walk away. It always makes me feel better.

Dezi is 7 1/2 lbs almost 2 years old and I get the same remarks from people. "Oh look how cute" "she is one of the big ones". Then they go off to tell me how their friend had a "teacup" yorkie. I just ignore them.
