How attached is your Yorkie? Diesel is just awful! He is like my shadow! He is never more than 3 feet away from me unless he is outside taking care of business! Talk about a true lapdog! He is definately a mamma's boy. :D I would be so lost without him. Do you have one this attached? I just wonder if this is an extreme attachment. PLus I wonder if things are different for a mamma's boy vs a mamma's girl? |
My two girls are very close to me as well. I love it!!!! |
Otis is attached when he's in the house, but if he's outside - forget it. He may check to see where I am every now and then, but otherwise I'm invisible. Oliver, my shih poo, is my shadow. He doesn't have the terrier drive to hunt when he's outside, so he's all about being with me all the time. |
Layla can go both ways.... when she is awake at home..she is always beside me or wanting me to play with her, but when she is sleeping it can be anywhere.. next to me... with my mom.. or even in the other room... we call her miss independant when she is doing that :p but she isn't SO attached that when i leave she is upset... so that is great! |
Beau honestly will sit there and scratch at the door if I'm in the bathroom until I come out! I can't go anywhere without him and vice versa. But the minute we are outside, he GONE! He will chase anything that moves! And he won't look back until he's either caught it or given up. He's my little shadow inside though and I wouldn't have it any other way! :p |
My babies are pretty attached to me; especially indoors. Whatever room I am in, they are too. If I get up to do something, they follow. Much more attached to me than my husband. They stay close to him when I am not home. Even when we do go outside, after doing their business and/or seeing what's going on in the backyard, sooner or later they (especially Lucky) will be close by and/or wanting up on my lap. |
Diesel has never been a runner. We open up the door and he will go out to pee and come right back. If I am outside and he knows its he will beg to go out. My DH will let him out to pee and he will come running as fast as he can to find me. He just loves his momma LOL. |
Rosie is real attached but not to me:( She's real attached to my older sister who is only staying with me for a few months. What am I going to do with her once my sister moves out. For sleep though she has to sleep with me. Sometimes when I go to sleep before everyone else, she comes upstairs and sleeps by me. |
Cody is pretty attached to me... He sleeps in the bed with me or on the couch... If i get up to go to another room he is right behind me... and If i go somewhere in the car then he goes.. if its somewhere he is allowed to be at. If i go to the bathroom he follows..if i go outside without him or in the kitchen he barks at me. so yeah he is attached to the hip LOL i love him. i wouldnt have it any other way |
Kodi is like this just tonight we were at the park and he was with us. He is never more then 4 feet from me and keeps one eye on me at all times. As I do with him. Everyone calls him my tail. |
My little mama's girl, Gracie, should have been named Velcro. She won't let me out of her sight unless it is to use her pee pad. She is at my feet when working, on my shoulder when watching TV, and curled up in my left arm when I am in bed. She follows me all over the place and cries if she can't find me. |
Abby is not too bad, she is ok if she's in the same room as me. But like everyone elses, once were outside she's GONE. Chasing after everything that moves. sometimes things that dont even move lol.:D I had my pug before I got Abby and I dont think she cries when I leave but I think thats b/c she's with him and not alone. I have heard that boys are more attached then girls but idk if that's true. I have also heard that girls are more protective. |
Mine are always at my feet, not more than two feet away at any given time....If i'm in the shower, they are on the floor waiting for me to get out. If i'm watching tv, they are in the chair with me or laying on the floor beside the chair....I'm happy it's in thier nature to be so protective, or always keeping an eye on us owners....it just shows their love for us. yorkiemomma7:animal-pa |
Roxy is soooo bad. That when i walk out the door she cries. If my mom is with her and I go to brush my teeth she cries. Its not good for her to be like that. |
Mindy is always with me. My hubby will pick her up to cuddle with her and she will leave him to cross over the arm of the couch to get to me. He laughs and says you wouldn't want it any other way. The only place she can't follow yet is upstairs. She will go up a few stairs but that's it. I'm sure that will come real soon. |

1 Attachment(s) I guess this picture sums it all up - Izzy is truly my shadow and this is how she usually is on me when I'm on YT... |
Winstin follows me everywhere in the house but outside he is on his own. Now if it is raining he will stay real close to me. Our yard is big and fenced in so he runs like crazy out there. However, he does get tired quickly. He pretty much acts like we are not out there. No matter what room I go in he is there. If I go in a room and shut him out he barks and whines like he is hurt. He does sleep with us but is in his crate when no one can watch him (That's rare) My question is this... Will he stay this way even as an adult? I want him to because I love it!!! He likes my Husband but he is a mommas boy, no doubt about that. |
Brody has to be able to see me at all times. We've been painting the livingroom this weekend. My daughter has been watching him upstairs in her room. He tolerated it for only so long. It was like he was jonesin' for his momma. My daughter came downstairs and asked if she could bring him down because he was sitting by the door shaking like a leaf. Poor baby! But then there are times he just wants to be in the same area, but no one can touch him. Especially when he's falling asleep. He's okay once he's out, but not before. Oi! |

Ava is pretty much like everyone else. When inside she is at my feet, I can even feel her hair at my ankles when I am walking. When I am at the computer she is sitting on my feet. If I am on the sofa or recliner she is on my shoulder. It's so funny, she looks like a parrot. But open the door and she will take off. Take her somewhere she becomes quite the little traitor. She will beg for any attention he can get. If you see her out, you would think she is neglected. At Petsmart she will actually cry if she is sitting in the basket and someone passes and doesn't stop and tell her how pretty she is. :aimeeyork She is quite the spoiled little princess she was meant to be. |
Mine is glued to my hip whenever he is not in his playpen!!:D He will sometimes go to sleep on the living room floor and i think its okay to get up to go to the kitchen and I turn around and there he is looking at me!!!:) You got to love it!! and I wouldn't have it any other way either!!!!:) |
AWWWW!! It seems aas if Yorkies tend to be a one person dog. I have no problem with it. LOL I wouldn't have it any other way. |
Jewels is usually right by my side but I just gave Chachi a bath so she is hiding because she knows its her turn |

One time my boyfriend said something mean to me and I pretended to cry and Beau came up and was licking my face to make sure I was okay. Then he sat on my lap and gave my boyfriend "the look", as if to say, "what did you DO?". Then my boyfriend wanted to prove Beau loved him too, so he started to fake cry and Beau just cocked his head at him and watched. I could have died laughing! He's my baby and thats all there is to it! |
Rocky :aimeeyork is my shadow anywhere i go even to the bathroom  he's right there he will lay down upside down so i can rub hi belly :D |
My boo bah disappears at times. When I think she's is right behind me, she is gone. I look for her and she hides behind the sofa, or in the walk in closet or huddles in a dark spot in the den. I dont let her outside because they're are too many strangers and creeps out there.:thumbdown Trouble is, I see her there once, look up and she's out of there! She runs like a rabbit! I love my boobah. Today we are going to the park, she loves to chase the boids.:) |
My Reggie, may she RIP, was attached at the hip. No matter where I was, she was there. Even if I was going to the bathroom she had to be on my lap. If I was gone even for a few minutes, she had to be picked up and loved as soon as I returned. She layed on my lap when on the computer or sitting watching TV. She even had her first puppy born on my foot.......because she was too big to jump up onto my lap. Her granddaughter, Roxie, has taken over since Reggie has been gone. She is a must be right there! She whines when I come home until I pick her up for a few minutes. We also have a daddy's boy. No matter where my husband is, there is Gizmo. If the dogs are outside and I want them to come in, they all will come expect for Gizmo. If hubby is still outside, so is Gizmo. |
Kalina is more attached to me now than in the beginning, but she isn't obsessive. She goes nuts when she sees me but she is not a lap dog and doesn't sit on anyone's lap. She likes to lie on the floor by herself. She sleeps in the chair next to my bed and sometimes she jumps on to the bed. When I go to work in the morning she is just fine at home with my daughter. She's really easy to get along with. She loves everyone, but she's not a fanatic for any one person. I would say she is more attached to me though. |
