| Hi, New Here After lurking for a while, I decided to join in. I have found some great information on here. I have a new baby...her name is Bella, and she will be my only daughter. She is only 12 weeks old right now. I also have 4 sons, so Bella is going to be very protected and spoiled. The only concern I have with her is that sometimes she has a bit of what seems like a hairball cough and some sneezes with it. I hope it is just allergies and plan on informing the Vet on her next visit on Tuesday. I had her delivered to me from Texas, and I am hoping she isn't any type of puppy mill baby because after the fact I found out that the breeder is registered with the USDA. The breeder claims that the puppy had gotten some drops in her nose to prevent the kennel cough. Have anyone every heard of this before? Well, hopefully she is in good health and I am going to just love her to bits anyway!! |

| Welcome to YT! I laugh that you found your baby in TX because I live in Central TX and couldn't find any! Hope your baby will grow up perfectly healthy! I hadn't heard anything about nose-drop bordatella, but I googled it and found some info - some vets even prefer it!

| Giving dogs the Bordetella (Kennel cough) vaccine through the nasal cavity as a spray gets processed into their systems faster than via injection. I personally prefer the injection for my own reasons and I give it to my dogs myself, but intranasal is fine too. Your girl may be sneezing and coughing slightly because she was just given the vaccine days before being transported to you and she may still be irritated from it and that's causing nasal drainage which would account for you symptoms. Ask your vet. Also, giving this vaccine is only a preventative. As w/ any virus, they mutate and she can still get Bordetella, it's just unlikely so long as she's current on the vaccine. jm2c, WELCOME TO YT!
