| Please Help>>>> I have a 12 week old yorkie, he weighs 2 lbs and is suddenly going spastic. He has his head tiltes back and will NOT put it down, he is drooling a TON, his eyes are glazed over and he is shaking. He hasn't eaten much today, and he wont' eat anything now. I called the vet, who told me to give him some Karo syrup and watch him through the night. I gave him a few fingers of it, and he isn't getting any better. How long does it take? How worried should I be? He is still arching back his head, and shaking a bit. |

| Your vet has told you to give the karo beause he believes its hyoglycemia. The karo should have helped right away. I would go to an Emergency vet

| emergency vet! I would take him to the emergency vet. It sounds like seizures to me. They can come on from really low blood sugar, but you would have noticed other things first. Any vet who would not say bring him in right away with those symptoms, especially if it had happed more than once, would not be someone I would go back to. Good luck! |

| You should never wait around for things to get better when they are that age. I can't believe that Vet. didn't have you bring him straight in. Change Vets. Also take him to an emergency Vet. clinic/hospital. If you don't, I don't think that puppy will make it till tomorrow. |

| Do you have any nutrical? I would give that if you have it available then head very quickly to your emergency vet. I would not wait it out. These pups are so tiny, they can go to a very critical condition rapidly!! Good luck to you- please keep us posted on how he is doing!!

| If the karo syrup didn't work almost immediately, then that could be a sign of an underlying problem. He needs to go to the ER vet ASAP. Please have your pup bile acid tested also...
