What did I find when I got home you ask???? 1 Attachment(s) ROCCO SCALING THE GATE LIKE A SOLDIER CLIMBING A WALL!!! I WATCHED him, place one paw strategically in a hole and the other paws in other holes and climbed up the 4ft gate (YES 4FT) in less than 10 seconds. So I thought well if I cover up the holes, with a cloth he won't be able to climb it, plus I'll add a top to it so he can't get up there even if he tries..umm you decide who won the battle here... |
Go Rocco!!!!!...Oooops I mean naughty Rocco! |
Sorry but I think you lost. How cute of him. |
By the way did I mention he's a mere 4 1/2-4 3/4 lbs??? And the gate is 4ft high?? The dark red you see is me trying to cover the gate so he can't get his paws in the hole to climb, then I put another gate on top of that so he can't climb out. Apparently it didn't detour him. |
Way to go Rocco!!!! So adorable. |
What a little stinker! |
Rocco wins!!! Guess you need to find a better way to stop him from climbing, lol. His brother is a great climber too. |
That's hilarious..go Rocco, go! |

That is so cute I have one just like him London. |
I had to get a baby gate with the bars, so Venus wouldn't be able to climb it. Then she walks right through it....so I had to put plexiglas over the bars! |
Thats is to cute! very determined:D |

I found something that works....... so far anyway. One of mine is a climber, too! I have a pen similar to yours. What I did was buy a cheap (but thick) clear plastic shower curtain. Then I cut squares to fit each section of the pen, punched some holes in it around the edges of each of them and stretched it tightly across each section and secured them with tie wraps. She can't get out now! It is slick! No footholds! I made sure it pretty much covered the whole thing so they wouldn't start chewing on an edge and tear it off. So far it works! I got the clear so they could still see out and me in (although a little distorted). For my other one who is a jumper I bought some HUGE scissor type clips at the dollar store (4 for a dollar) that stick up about 6 inches and I clipped them to the top evenly spaced all the way around. So far that has worked also. These little ones are just so smart! They will probably figure a go around eventually, but for now I have something that works! |
Hes a little hoodini. I have always wondered why some yorkies are climbers and some arent. Mine have never done it and they are going on 3. |

:) lol now that is too funny!!! Ya gotta give the baby credit for figuring out how to do that!!:D We use to have a s**tz tu that knew how to get out of the cages at our vets when we left him there on vacation!! They would come back from lunch and find him waiting for them at the door!!!:D needless to say when he stayed there they had to put a lock on his cage!!! :) lol My money is on Rocco that he will find away around the next attempt to prevent him from climbing a la cage!!! :) lol They are smart ones!!! Luckily mine is not a climber .....Is Rocco giving lessons????!!!! I hope not cause all the yorkie babies will be emailing him like crazy!!!:lol tears |
That is too funny:) Isn't it amazing how smart they are? I have a climber, too and I'll never forget the first day came home and was greeted at the front door:eek: I love the picture of Rocco "in action". He's got that determined look on his face:p |
That is too funny!:animal-pa |
LOL....it is funny how they can figure a way around anything. Louie does the same thing when the girls are in heat. We throw a thick throw blanket that they can't get their claws into over it and that way they cant still stick their paws in the holes like they would be able to do with just a cloth over it. |
that is too funny ! if i was you since its there room cut the door in half it will be a mini dog for them they still get air and he cant climb it |
Thats a point for team ROCCO!!!! |
cute little dare devil .... it is like a contest .... |
Go Rocco Go!!! :cheer: :cheer: Your doing a great job at keeping Mommy on her toes!!! Can't wait to see your next trick!! :Puppy2: |
Funny!!!! |
Haha... Our ex-pen has a door with a latch on it and within a week of having Aira she figured out how to open it up so she could go wherever she pleased :) Yorkies are smart little brats! |
:animal-pa Have you tryed one of thoughts baby play pins? Sometimes you can pick them up chep at a thrift store. |
Too smart for his own good! :D |
to stop getting out I had a patio with a fence at an apartmentcomplex. I used this trick because you couldn't alter/damage anything permanently plus it had to be white... At home depo or Lowes they have closet shelving that is wire covered with plastic/vinyl you get it cut to how many feet you need, i bought the widest one(deep from front to back) and used plastic zip ties to hold it over the porch railing so my Bailey couldn't get out. She never tried to jump over it or climb over it, and it kept her on the patio. I bet it would work to cover a doorway too. I did buy a mesh sided playpen and she scaled the walls on that and was free in no time at all... Hope that helps :) |
