Does it Work? Has anyone ever used an Ultrasonic Barking device? The kind that sends out a high pitched noise that only dogs can hear? My moms b-day is Wednesday and that's what she asked me to get her because Nala's barking is driving us crazy, lol. We've tried all the other methods. The spray bottle worked for a little while but then Nala decided that she liked getting sprayed with water I ordered one from Care-A-Alot Pets and I really hope it works because this is our last option (We would never use a bark collar). If you've had any experience with one of these or know someone that has please share the results with me. Here's the one that I ordered (it's #4825) http://www.carealotpets.com/listitem...&sortType=Desc

I would like to know the answer to this also because I was thinking about getting one. Recon and Memphis are serious barkers. I cant have my front shades open or they sit and bark constantly.

Nala likes to sit and bark at KoKo (our really old lhasa) because she wants KoKo to chase her. The barking drives KoKo nuts and when she doesn she goes after Nala ready to attack, lol. But she can't catch her.

I never used the ultrasonic one before but I do like the Gentle Spray Citronella Anti-Bark Collar. It works really well on my yorkies.

| KP&Nala, if you find out if this works, would you please let me know? My sister has a Chi that drives us nuts whenever we go over to visit. If someone is not constantly fawning over him, he will not stop barking. My sister is going on vacation in August, and I am watching her Chi for her while she is away. It will drive me nuts if he barks all day long for two weeks. Thanks!

Me too! I would like to know also. Sydney sits on the back of the couch and barks at everything that passes (especially her arch-enemy...the Jack Russel from 2 houses down). I would love to break her of this!

I have never used on of those, but I would be curious to know. Lil 'E' doesn't bark much, but my parents have some yappers.

lol Just like everyone else, I would be curious to see if this works! Fred barks a lot in the morning when the sun rises. It's okay now because it's summer but when school starts back up for me, I don't think I can handle it as well as I can now!

I let everyone know if it works or not. I just ordered it today so it probably won't get here til the end of the week. Do you think this could be painful to a dogs ears? I guess I'll just have to wait and find out. I want Nala to quit all that yappin but I don't want it to hurt her.

| Well i tried it and it worked but i felt bad. It seemed as though it confused him because he started looking down and smelling the ground. They say humans can't hear it, but my brother & I heard this weird noise and it wasn't pretty. I felt so bad for him. Then i tried it again but it didn't really work like the first time, and it hurt my ear so I said if it bothers me imagine how much it bothers him. So i took it back i felt so bad. He barks still but not as much. I paid $50.00 so I just took it back and got my money.

Well, I wouldn't use one again (ultrasonic) for anything in the world. Someone in my family bought one for Muffin. I didn't want to put it on her, but I did just to see what happened. Well, she didn't bark. She did start shaking. It scared her to death. I immediately took it off of her and threw it away to make sure it never adorned her neck again. I much preferred to hear my little live-wire bark. Last edited by yorkieusa; 06-20-2005 at 09:12 PM.

The one that I ordered isn't the one that is on a collar. It's just a device you can put in a room and set it on automatic or you can control it manually. If it seems like it hurts my dogs ears I'll send it back. But we've atleast got to try it b/c Nala will sit and bark and something nonstop and you can't make her stop and we all know how annoying those yorkie barks are, lol.
