There are upper-class pet boutiques that sell dogs from puppy mills too. No one should buy from a pet store no more how classy it seems. |
that is so sad. :( Their big eyes are just so heartbreaking. A couple weeks ago after we dropped the pups off at the groomer, my mom and I had some time to kill. We went into this cute little pet store to look around. Then we saw the puppy room. I knew I shouldn't have gone in, but I did. and I saw the cutest puppy I've ever laid eyes on in my life. He was in an awful wire cage - they all were. and their waste was laying on the newspaper at the bottom of the cage. It made my heart hurt. :( I took him out and played with him and he was the sweetest little man. I looked around some more and they all looked so depressed and I wanted to take them all home and slap some people around. Puppy Mills are the worst places on earth. :( I have a firsthand expierance with a pet store pup. Unfortunatly he was very sick and didn't make it. Ever since then I will do anything I can to stop puppy mills. One day I'm going to go into a pet store and make some kind of scene haha. |
That is so sad. I almost got into a screaming fight with a pet store owner last week (where I bought Bent from before I knew better). I was in the store checking on the conditions of the puppies (which I do at least once a month - just in case) and an older man probably in his 50's who worked there came up talking to me about the lhasas and yorkies, ect. He kept saying how they were the "finest quality stock" "perfect to SHOW OR BREED". I kept my cool as much as I possibly could and asked him where these puppies were from. He of course gave me the song and dance about private breeders, ect ect. I told him I'm not interested in supporting the puppy mill industry and simply came in to check on the puppies in the store. He got all heated with me, saying they were private breeders. Then I told him, I know for a fact they buy from puppymillers because the dog that I purchased (Bentley) is from a WELL KNOWN puppy miller and I looked her up online much to my shock. Then I got into more things with him until he basically couldn't defend himself or the store anymore. I felt really bad, I had people staring at me.. but I was polite the entire time but stated the facts about puppy mills LOUDLY. The sad thing is, not one person playing with their potential puppies put them back :(. I feel so many people just don't want to believe or know about the truth. |

I mean I wasn\'t being super loud or anything, but it\'s a small store and I\'m sure people had to hear what I was saying to some extent. I usually wouldn\'t be so confrontational, but the things this guy was saying.. I just couldn\'t let it go. |
