| Thinking of getting Samson a sibling Good morning everyone, I was wondering if I could get some opinions from those of you that have more than one yorkie that you added to the family at different times. My husband and I are discussing getting our Samson a brother or sister and my husband is not quite as gung ho as I am. He's not against it but he's fine with taking his time and I, after thinking about it for a long time, am ready. My question is, do you think your first one is happier now that they have a sibling? I wish Samson could just tell me whether or not he'd like a sibling but that's not likely to happen , so.......I just wanted some opinions on whether you feel most pups enjoy having a permanent playmate or if you think sometimes they just eventually learn to live with it but would have rather not had an addition to the family. Thanks! |

| I have a 7 year old Yorkie that I got 4 1/2 years ago and I was his 6th home and he came with some issues but I love him dearly. I thought long and hard about a brother/sister for him and all the breeders I talked with said the female yorkies were always the alpha and I should get a male. A litle over a week ago I did get a male puppy 8 weeks old and the first night was a nightmare and Rickles was so upset I was really afraid I had done the wrong thing but I stuck with it and am happy to report that for the last 2 days Rickles has started playing with the puppy and seems to be having a great time with him. Now I am glad I did get another Yorkie. No one believed Rickles would ever accept another dog but he has, I think it's because Gleason is a puppy. Hope this helps you. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I do not even have our first one yet but have brought the idea of a second Yorkie up to my husband. I was floored when he said yes to it! I was thinking of getting both at the same time but I want Jeter all to myself for a bit before we get him his brother! I was thinking of waiting till Jeter is 6 months to a year. Now my only problem is getting my guy's to let me name him after another Yankee player.....I got my list going with the possibilities, but my oldest likes Pablo so I don't know! |

| I think mine is happier. There is always someone there for him to play with. It took them a few weeks, but now its hard to keep them apart!!! I would make sure that you first one is fully trained before you get your second one. |

| Our first guy Wizzar was rescued, he hated when his mommy left the house so much so he reinacted some james bond scenes to escape the back yard to follow me to work. Then we got a little girl Pixie, she put him in his place, but best of friends. Wizzar then took a turn for the worst so we got another little guy Sparkey and he is mental!!! Wizzar pulled through so my family of three is great, even thinking of getting another!!!

| It took Piper 6 months to accept Penny, and now that's all he does. He won't play with her, and turns his back on me if I'm holding her. It's just like skin siblings their never quiet happy.
