| Boys or Girls? For those of you that have had experience with both sexes, which do you...prefer and why? I have never owned a male dog, they seem to be far more active than females. Who is easier to housetrain? I also heard that males play alot more than females and now that I think about it my previous female Yorkie didn't play AT ALL. So what do you guys say??? |

| is there a difference???? I have 2 girls ... Monday is mellow and laid back and the other one, Friday, (the puppy) is a devil dog ... full of energy and more mischievous than Monday ever was ... they each have their own personality ... Oh... yeah, boys may lift their legs to pee, girls squat!!!

| Well remember that really it depends on the individual dogs but in my experience, girls are smarter and easier to train and boys are more loving and very playful. |

| I have one of each and each one has it's own quirks. Penny was a lot easier to potty train then Piper, but Piper is a lot more mellow.

| Well I like them both. My 2nd one is easier to house train bc she has her big brother to follow, which helps A LOT!! So to me, I think they are the same. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I dont think you can relate all traits to a certain sex. Most say Females don't play, Bella sure does she is 2 and still plays like a crazy girl!! Diggy was harder to potty train with pee Bella was harder for poopin. Diggy is more goofy and clownish, Bella loves to goof too though. They both insist on sleeping with me, they are both spoiled, Bella is a big hogger over treats and Diggy takes them politely. SHe is very "Diva like" and only wants attention when she asks for it Diggy you can flop him around anytime he just doesnt care...Bella is VERY VERY VERY Dominant, and Diggy is starting to challenge that. Hard to say I think it depends on that specific puppy and how you raise them has a lot to do with their attitudes.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have had both and switched to females after having problems with males marking all over the houe. But neither were neutered(it was a long time ago). I think as far as personality it's an individual dog thing not a female vs male.

| I think it depends on the individual dog. Miko was super easy to potty train!! He's very smart and super cuddly, but still very playful He's very loving. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he doesn't lift his leg at ALL in the house If you get your male neutered at around 6-7 months, I don't think you should have any problems as far as marking goes...

| I have had both male and female. I love them both but i prefer females. boys you have to deal with their goods coming out and staying in the "out" position LOL and maybe its just mine but he sure is stubborn sometimes. he has a great personality though. |

| I have boys... I always just wanted boys.... never really wanted a girl. Now I kind of want a little girl so I can put little bows in her hair. I do not keep my boys in top knots... they are WAAAAYYYY too hyper to keep them in, they rip them off of each other! LOL I just heard that little boys get along with female owners better than little girls... and since I am a single female I thought it would work out better! I just adore my boys! They are awesome!

| This is my first girl. Previously I had 3 male neutered Chihuahuas. They were extremely hard to train, so I didn't want to deal with the leg lifting this time. I'm happy with my female, but I love males too. I'm sure this was no help to you whatsoever!

| I think boys are more affectionate. My Penny is a little independent girl, while Piper is a mommys boy.
