People who have pets think it is cute, other people just laugh and just say they are dogs. Some laugh when they find out we have had doggy birthday parties, pictures taken ect. I just tell them they are my babies and they are worth it. |

I took copper today in his little juicy shirt and he is for the most part well recieved. We had to go out and buy a matching leash for his collar even though the leash doesn't go on his collar, hehe. the ladies at coach are always nice and like to ask about him. I don't think that they even notice he is wearing clothes. But other stores we get some funny looks sometimes. I have yet to hear a rude comment. Mostly people point and smile or say, "look at that little dog." I am not sure how I would respond to the negative stuff. i guess just smile because we all know why we dress our dogs and I dont think I would try to explain myself to someone who doesn't understand the breed. They do get cold and nervous and look so cute dressed, Why not? |
I dress Lacy every day - outfit, collar, and bow every day. I actually pick out what I'm going to put on her the night before just like I do with my clothes. Today a girl with her shih tzu told me she looked cute in her pink dress. I usually get a lot of comments about her being cute and spoiled. My parents and sister are used to it but tell me I spend way too much on my dog and that she doesn't need any more clothes. A lot of people laugh when I tell them I dress Lacy up every day and how many clothes she has. I think most people think it's cute though. I've probably gotten bad comments before but can't really remember any right now - they are just so few and far between. But those that think they have to make comments are just jealous because they don't look as good as my dog and they can't afford clothes like hers..LOL. If anyone ever tried to tell me she looked silly in clothes, I would tell them "Well, she looks a hell of a lot better than you!." Haven't had to say that yet though.. |
You live in the OC and your sister says this? A huge part of my clientelle is in LA...I had the feeling it was extremely popular there... |
"To each his own" is usually the best response... Though I've never had anyone look at me crazy for putting clothes on my pup - and if they did, they'd get that crazy look right back at em'.... 8) |

O.K. I have also noted that whenever I here a rude comment on dressing a furbaby,I notice that the person is dressed really, umm, how do I politely say this? Oh heck, they are dressed crappy, out of style etc...I mean they have no idea how to dress themselves- let alone a pet.LOL |
People have only made comments about how cute he looks when I dress Jake. They might be thinking things that they don't say though.:D |
I have to admit that before we got Louis I thought it was weird. I remember once my hubby and I were in Santana Row here in San Jose ( an out door mall across the street form a normal indoor mall  ) and we saw an elderly couple pushing their elderly dog in a stroller  and she was wearing a dress! I thought it was the funniest thing. Yeah, well months later at the Oilily fashion show I saw my first yorkie and fell in love, she too was wearing a dress, and I thought I just have to get one of those babies. She was adorable! Now I dress my boy, not too much, but I do and I really want a dog stroller. LOL! this is what I would call a "burn" but I dont care. A year ago I decided to have an opened mind. Hence my signature ;) |
OMG... I was just talking to a friend of mine about this, and her boyfriend told her to tell me that dressing up a dog is a from of cruelty and the owner is the only person enjoying it while the dog suffers. I wonder if most men feel this way. |
