| Shaving ears/taping them? Diesel will be 14 weeks on Wednesday. When I got him his ears had been shaved by the breeder at about 6/7 weeks old and his ears were standing up fine. Now the hair has grown out some and they are starting to get floppy. Should I shave or tape them? and how do I do it?

| I would shave them to see if they will go back up on their own.

| I would shave them. I use the Wahl Peanut clipper but some use a men's moustache trimmer.

| You definately don't want to use a razor! You don't shave down to the bare skin when you do it. I would shave them and give them a day or so to see if they come back up...I have a girl now nearly a year old with ears that will start to flop if the hair gets too long, but they are back up when I shave them. I have some clippers (ConAir I think) that are small, beard trimmers. I think they were only about $10 at Wal-Mart. They work great! |

| I used clippers and scissors on Livi's. You could try just using scissors at first and see what happens. I even used the scissors for the back of her ear and all along the ear as well. Tammy Last edited by TammyJM; 08-27-2007 at 05:53 AM. |
