2 Attachment(s) First let me say you all have some beautiful babies! :) My mom got a yorkie in 2005 we had to put her to sleep June of this year. She had gotten a collapsed trachea the breeder we got her from didn't stop breeding her at the age she was suppose to so the tubes messed her up bad. We did everything to make her better but it didn't help she continued to worsen and mom and I said we can't make her suffer no longer. I missed her sooo much after she passed i would still wake up at 7 am to go outside just to realize she was no longer here. and coming back from the store was awkard too. So June 17 2007 I got my little man Cody! So I'm not new to yorkies but this is my first very own. Cause toddie was more my moms dog but she loved us both the same. And i wouldn't trade Cody for nothing in the world. i love him sooo much although at times he can be a handful but he is still a puppy! ive attached a picture of Toddie (RIP) my moms dog. and cody my baby! sorry for the long post too |
I am probably one of the newest Yorkie owners - I've only had Bella for 2.5 months and I just  her! I didn't really understand how special these little babies were until I got Bella. Now I wish I had gotten a Yorkie sooner! I wish I could get another Yorkie but I already have a Maltichon, 2 cats and a bird! :D |

Mindy is my first yorkie and we have had heard for about 6 weeks now. I can't even imagine life without her anymore. She is the most affectionate little thing. She can flying at me on the couch last night so fast for kisses that her head hit my front tooth. Didn't seem to bother her one bit. Like everyone else, I would love to have a second one someday. |
I got my first Yorkie im 1970, Karma. I used the last 150.00 in my bank account to get him. I left him at my parents when I moved out 7 years later as they were all attached and I lived in an apt. AFter a year of not having a dog we moved to a place we could have a dog and I got Zorro in 1979, he was with us until he was 13 and died of kidney disease. I lasted a week without one and got Gracie in 1990 and she sadly had to be out to sleep at 6 1/2 from complications of a severely collapsed trachea. Then my DH and dtr wanted a pom and I got Maya in 1997, I so missed my Yorkies so I finally decided to have more than one dog at a time and got Cali in 2005 and Pixie in 2007. I definately am a Yorkie person!!! Will always have them. |
Everybody has a great story behind their Yorkies. :) |
I got Tinkerberll in South Korea in 2006, she was my valentine's gift:D but I got her early in January because the place where I got her didn't want to hold on to her until Feb. 14:rolleyes: Ever since I am in LOVE with Yorkies:p |
Gus is my first Yorkie. My sons got him for me for mother's day this year. I am truly blessed to have him. We didn't realize how quickly we would fall or how hard. He is truly the leader of the pack. |
Gypsy is my first yorkie. I have had her since February 2006. Never had any experience with yorkies before that exept seeing other people with them. Fell in love with her at first sight. |

Poodles to Yorkie I got Chelsea by chance, she was gifted to me by some friends, that couldnt keep her, due to her activity. They always wanted a Yorkie, but didnt realize how much attention they need. They bought her from a breeder, a real bargain of $600.They both work full time, and they didnt have the time nor energy to keep her, and wanted her to go to a forever home. I always had poodles since 1972, first a black mini, Sheba, which our kids consider their pet. Sheba was PTS due to renal failure at the old age of 17, she was very special to all. Within 3 weeks, I bought Penny, from a breeder in NM, Copper Penny was a toy red poodle. Then I decided to breed her at 2yrs, and signed off for a stud. I was traveling, I received a message that the breeder had decided to sell the red toy male, so when I came home, I purchased him, Cinnebar Lanier. I had both until they were 15 yrs old. Penny had a very tragic death in our swimming pool one night, she had canine dementia, and we think walked right into the pool. Lanier became blind, arthritic, and demented so I decided to PTS. Both were cremated and I have their ashes. After our loss of Lanier, 4 ays later, I got a call from my best friend, her boss's parents wanted to find a good home for Chelsea. 2.5 years later, LIFE has never been the same at this house. I find the breed active, and highly intelligent, and all along I thought poodles were the best. We love her dearly, and she is a joy to have in our home, and OF COURSE, she isnt spoiled...:D :D :D The best part, we no longer live in the home with the swimming pool, so Chelsea is very safe in our back yard. We call it Chelsea's yard, because she runs in it, barking..MY YARD, MY YARD! ;) |
