| home alone Hi all: I have 2 Yorkies....one 5yrs old and one 7yrs old. They are 5.5lbs and 6.4lbs. I enjoy taking them with me on shopping trips or Yorkie events. At some events I can only take one because only one is allowed per adult. At other time I would prefer to just take one because of the weight of carrying both of them (in certain places they must be carried). And also in certain instances because of the event it is easier to keep an eye on one rather than 2. My question....is it unfair to leave one at home for say 4 to 5 hours while I take the other with me. I at times have to leave one at home when I take them to the vet for an appointment that is not their annual checkups. But for the most part I take the 2 with me. Any opinions Tina Last edited by tinav; 08-23-2007 at 07:28 AM. |

| If we are going somewhere that dogs are allowed, we take them. But if not, they all stay home together. I would feel bad just taking one and leaving one at home, maybe you should just leave them home together, this way they have company and can play. |

| No, I have to leave one at home sometimes. But I think that if you take one out, get something for the one left at home, or go home and play with them. Just so they don't feel left out. |

| Hi Tina, I have 2 and as much as I would love to take both, I can only take the one that behaves in public I don't always bring HER though . . . and when I do, I make sure that Tiger does not see me leave the house with Annika. Hubby is home and so I give Tiger to him. Lately, Tiger and hubby has been bonding so well that he now hangs out with him all the time |

| I usually take both because the one left behind will pitch a huge fit I actually have to have my ex or his son come and puppysit and even then they say the one left cries almost the whole time we're gone.

| Ours both are about 4.5 lbs, so they are small. One person taking the both of them together is too much.

| I have 5 I have 5 furbabies, so when I only take one I don't feel so bad since my other babies have each other to keep them company. I would probably feel bad if I only had 2 and only took one with me places. I rotate my babies each time I go somewhere, I'll take one and then the next time it's someone elses turn. I usually take one with me to work half days on Fridays, they each get a turn to go. Although I have to say Max hasn't had a turn yet, he is my rambunctious 10 month old and also my barker; hence the name Maxwell Bark-well. |

| I agree that you should get a pet stroller so that BOTH of your fur-babies can go with you I saw some for sale in stores around my house for $100 canadian, so it must be around the same for you as well. I'm sure it'd be a great investment item for you and your fur babies!

it keeps them off the ground and under control. when we went to the vet last week it was really nice that they were all in the stroller and not boucing around the vets office. Last edited by daisy mae06; 08-23-2007 at 09:05 AM. | |
