| Asking how much you paid... My sister and I brought Lulu to a dog friendly mall in her neighborhood. Because she is so tiny, she received a lot of attention. Every single person that came up to us asked how much we paid for her. Some people reacted with "OMG" and then the funny looks. It's a very uncomfortable feeling being judged by complete strangers. I think I will avoid that question from now on. It's so weird how some people lose their manners when it comes to dogs. |

| I would say "I paid what she/he is worth" and if they press just tell them that it's really none of their business and either change the subject or walk away. It's completley rude for people to ask what you paid for something and they really dont need to know. JMO

YT 2000 Club Member | I think it is rude to ask how much a person paid for something, I was raised with manners and I use them. You do not have to tell people who ask flat out like that, you know they know a price range that people pay for Yorkies, and all they want is to make a comment about it! It's different if you are talking with the person and they offer that information on their own. That has happened to me when I have asked a Yorkie owner who their breeder was because I was looking for one. I would not make any comment to them about the price because I know that they are a pretty penny.I asked more about the breeder and how the dog's were cared for. |

| When I first got Kalina I took her to a family BBQ that included friends of family too. One woman kept asking me again and again and again how much I paid for Kalina. I wasn't about to answer her and kept saying things like "whatever it was she's worth it" but the woman wouldn't stop asking. I especially didn't want to get into it in front of my family, because a lot of them have something to say about how I spend MY money. It took a while, but she finally got the hint.

| People ask me that about my baby and most of the time I just smile and say "you can't put a price on this little face". Most people get the hint pretty quickly. I don't know why people feel like they can ask these questions. If they want to know her breeder, that's one thing, but the price is too personal. If I am having a serious conversation with a friend or someone knowledgeable about the breed, I might say something if I feel comfortable. But I don't think it's really anyone's business just to approach you and ask (but of course, people feel like they can do lots of things these days).

| I'm kinda rude back!! This IS totally rude for people to ask! Especially those who just wanna know cuz of gossip, not because it has anything to do with the breed or quality of the dog. So, my little horns stick-out whenever I get the chance! I say, oh for her I paid $5000 and he's a show dog so I paid like $7000, and the baby is just so cute so I paid another $5000 for him. HA!! I love the reactions. Most don't get it, and actually believe it. But hey, they started it right? Truth is, I will probably pay much more than this over the lifetime of my babies! And that's our/my choice right?!?! Hehe....

| It just depends on who asks. LOL Family I don't mind so much but strangers....it's just rude! I wouldn't ask personal info on them. Someone once asked why I dress them they aren't people. I think hey you are just jealous because my dogs dress better than your kids.
