I use to tell them what I paid, but since I moved here and now know about break ins and stealing yorkies, I dont anymore. 2 people asked me in this neighborhood and I lied, I told them I got them for free from a breeder friend lol
no one really needs to know how much we pay for our furbabies.

It almost feels dangerous to wave your dog's price tag around... especially if you tell the wrong person who wouldn't mind making a quick buck. :P

I have a silver spotted bengal, and I get the same question pretty often. I usually say something like "too much!" as a joke, but avoid saying how much he really was unless I know the person pretty well.

But even then, it is uncomfortable sometimes. Too many people seem to get so upset at the idea of paying a certain amount for an animal. Of course, there are those who are against having any animal that wasn't rescued from a shelter too.

I do have two rescue/shelter cats, and donate, etc - shouldn't I be able to get a pedigree animal if I want to without someone trying to make me feel guilty?
