| HELP i need a grooming tip! skoshi plays outside a lot with the other dog and i have been growing out his hair. But since this he has started getting tons of mats because they wrestle a lot and roll around in the grass. well i tried to brush them out and that didnt work so i decided to give him a cut and start growing again in winter. so i shaved his hair using a 5 and the hair by the top line just looks weird i cant tell if its way shorter or longer lol. but its bunching out and its making him look funny any ideas for the hair on top? |

| lets see if i can help ... if its worse and not better .. i didnt do it ... have you ever seen a layered haircut i wish i could draw think of the topline as your shortest cut and then pull up the side hairs to cut sort of too it untill it dosnt reach anymore make sense ? so in other words the top needs to be tighter

| Using a guide leaves the hair in a layered cut (and longer than the blades will). My advice is to scissor the top until it blends in evenly to the rest of the hair.

| I think that the top is just short and will not lay down until it grows some. Have you never seen someone whose bangs are too short and they stick up instead of laying down. |

| You can try trimming the top to blend in, but I'm afraid it might come out looking like my hair with spikes in it. LOL If it does gel works great for me.
