| What am I getting myself in for Well as you all know, i just got my second yorkie last night, a tiny male yorkie called Jinky. Well my first yorkie, Larsson, a female hasn't taken too kindly to her. Theres only 3 months of difference between them but Larsson huge compared to Jinky. The problem is.... Larssont thinks that Jinky is one of her cuddley toys and is trying to Jinky, He's so small and petite I'm afraid that something will happen to Jinky when I am not there, Will Larsson get used to him being there..?

| I would keep them separate when you are not home until you know they are going to be okay together. Even though the age difference isn't that great, this isn't too different from getting a new pup with a full-grown Yorkie. You will need to give your girl time to adjust. Could take a couple of days, a couple of weeks or maybe a little longer. Congrats on the new addition and I hope it works out well for you!!

| I kept a close eye on mine, and there is a big difference between my two Aubrey 12 lbs, and Dakota 2 lbs. I keep her locked up in her cage and let Aubrey run around. Aubrey sniffed her a lot at first, and then she started getting use to him it took a good week for that to happen. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I got Marcel this spring and he's a tiny guy. He was 1 lb. 4 oz. when I got him at 4 mths old. Wylie wasn't thrilled, but he wasn't wanting to be mean either. It made Wylie quite needy and insecure for awhile; we tried to help him through that, we felt terrible for him. Once they started bonding and playing together, we were VERY careful bc Wylie weighs 7.5 pounds. Be super vigilant if they both are on the couch or bed and want to play. Now, Marcel is 2.10 pounds and it's safer - but we are still careful and watchful. They now LOVE playing together, it's adorable.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I got Pixie in January and she was 13 months old and 3 lbs. I havce a 12 lb pom and a 5 lb yorkie. When I was gone I seperated them at first but they all adjusted and Pixie prefers to stay by my pom over my other Yorkie. It takes time but they should bond and be fine.

| I kept mine separted when they were alone until I knew that they bigger ones would not hurt the smaller ones. It's best to let them work things out on their own, it is rare that one would intentionall hurt the other one. Usually when one yipes, the other will stop. But I would still supervise for a while. |

| Otis wanted nothing to do with Oliver when I brought him home. He was a little puppy nuisance (sp?). Otis had been an only dog for about a year so it took him quite a while to adjust to having a brother. Oliver always wanted to bite and play and Otis looked as if he wished he would just go away. They are buddies now, but they still don't cuddle and Oliver still plays a little rough with Otis and he runs away from him. I think they just need some time. They definately keep each other company. Good Luck. I hope everything works out for your babies. And congratulations of your new edition.

My furkids Donating Member | Sadie was 2 1/2 yrs old when we got Lillie. To say the least Sadie wasn't happy AT ALL! I didn't leave them alone together for about 8 months..Sadie would get real aggressive with Lillie, guess it was the Alpha dog kicking in, (not all the time) and I was afraid she would hurt Lillie...Just give them time...before long they will be best buddies!
