| ![]() I was not worried about taking Zoey to the groomers. They fight over who gets to hold her when we walk in. They seem to love her. Now you guys are scaring the cr@p out of me. Eyes popping out, blows to the head....EEEEk. ![]()

| ![]() I take both of my pups to a groomer and she always says 3-4 hrs. and she will call me when done. It NEVER takes that long. She is just giving herself lots of time so she is not running late when you get there. Mine always do well but then again they are use to noise as I have 3 kids. |

| ![]() I groom Demi myself, and I really enjoy it. I can't explain it, but it gives me a lot of satisfaction to do this for her. Sometimes I give her a Westie face, sometimes a Schnauzer face, sometimes I experiment with her bangs and moustache. It's fun to change her look. Of course, she looks gorgeous in every style! I have clippers, but I usually just scissor her (she has a puppy cut). When I do use the clippers, I'm very careful not to burn her. Sometimes I give her a quick trim and it's not too good of a job, but other times I go slow and she looks really good when it's done. I'm not as good as a professional groomer and doubt I ever will be, but I'm getting better with time. I don't express her glands because my vet said it wasn't routinely necessary (thank goodness) and I don't trim her nails because we live in the city and she walks on concrete so her nails are worn down in the course of the day. I also don't pluck her ear hair because, again, my vet said it wasn't necessary (so I just trim her inner ears closely). I do clean her ears after grooming. In the winter I blow-dry her, but in warm weather I usually just towel her off. There are some good websites with step-by-step instructions. Try it, and if you aren't comfortable or don't do a good job, what's the harm? It's just hair, it will grow back. |
