| Max is very quiet. He barks when he hears somebody near the door, and when he wants to say ??? to another dog on the street. He's not allowed to bark at me, unless he really needs me. (He gets stuck behind the couch sometimes and I have to get him out). I hope Gracie is not a barker! I'm really spoiled.

YT 500 Club Member | My husband still laughs because I said that Yorkies don't bark much. I knew a few people with Yorkies before we got ours, and theirs were not barkers. However, when we pulled up to the house where we got our Sophie, there were only four dogs there (Mom, Dad, Sophie and her brother). BUT....the barking sounded like 20!!! They saw or heard our car, and they went NUTS! It was so cute! My husband just looked at me! But he fell in love too. Well, Sophie is a barker, in fact she is exactly like her parents! The older she gets the better, but we have squirrels in the trees around our house, and she sits at the patio door and barks at them when they run across the fence or deck! She loves to protect us from those pesky squirrels.

| Jake doesn't bark much at all. He only barks if he hears something outside at night.

| Bella's not a barker, thank goodness! She sometimes growls or howls. But not often. Meanwhile, my lab Bridget never shuts up. And her bark is loud and piercing. Bridget got a bark collar, she's getting better.

| Siu Pao is usually very quiet. The only time he barks is when his chew toys/toys got stuck under the couch/behind the cabinet and he'd bark for someone to retrieve it for him.

| Vinnie is definitely a barker. More so since we moved into a house and when he looks out of the window he's street level. In our second floor apartment there wasn't much for him to look at. He barks every chance he gets. At first it became very annoying now we realize he just loves us and has a lot to say!!!

| Brody really only barks in the AM when he's ready to get up. Which can be very early. We're trying to get him use to waiting until at least 7-8am. Thank goodness our duplex neighbors moved out some time ago and probably won't get new ones. He is starting to show a protective streak. So he will bark at odd times when someone is at the front door, but rarely.

| Our 2 Yorkie girls, Peaches and Baby bark.. and our boy, Rascal does not much. Now our Golden Retriever Barks a lot at sounds like our Yorkie girls. She never use to. Our Golden Retriever, Sequoia a lot of times starts the barking crusade anymore.

| I have always found that yorkies are not yappy at all, sometimes a bit prtective which is nice, giving a warning bark when someone new comes to the door. I have always wanted a maltese but heard that they aare big barkers! |
