| There could be many reasons. It could be something simple like he is hot or chewing on something like a Bully Stick. It would be something serious like diabetes. Loki drinks TONS of water. I never realized how much until we got Sammy and saw how she takes 3 licks a few times a day. Loki drinks his entire bowl every time I fill it. We took him to the vet and had every test run, and he just likes water! I can only fill his water 1/2 way, and he has to go out every 45 mins. It's annoying, but we're used to it.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | is this a recent development or has he always done it? if its a recent thing then he could possibly have a UTI, or it could be becuase its summer and he's hot. has anything else in your house changed recently to make him do this? a change in his routine maybe?

| thanks for the prompt response, my yorkie 3 months old. ive been giving him a bully stick but this would be the first time he frequents the water bowl. but he seems to be ok at the moment. Im assuming it was due to change in schedule? will keep an eye out. Also he keeps scratching himself. ive applied frontline on him yesterday but the itch seems consistent. ive checked for ticks but havent seen anything out of the ordinary. any ideas? |

| Food could be the problem. Yorkie skin is very delicate. I feed Ropyal Canine, because it has ingredients in it to help protect their delicate skin. Click on "very sensitive skin" http://www.royalcanin.us/dogfood/yorkshirebook.html |

| My cousin's boxer was obsessed with water and it turned out he had kidney problems (had the recalled food as a puppy ) and it was kidney disease. NOT to scare you, i'm just saying ...i would go to a vet. |
