WHOA! Both parents under 2 1/2 pds! i was looking in the newspaper today to see if anyone was selling yorkies locally there was an add for a tiny female yorkie. i called and she said that she would be ready next week and that the mom is 2 lbs and the dad is right under 2 1/2 pds!! i was like OMG i said okay i will call you back |
i wonder if i should go look at her conditions. But i know i would want to rescue her. |
im jsut scared this tiny pup will go to someone who knows nothing about yorkies and hypoglycmia |
Maybe they haven't actually weighed the mom and dad and are just guessing? Or maybe flat out lying? I know my chi Harley's mom supposedly only weighed 3 lbs - but let me tell you, that was the biggest and heaviest 3 pounds I've ever seen! (DH and I guessed she was at least 6 lbs). Sometimes people alter the truth a bit to get people to at least see the babies and fall in love. I hope that poor mom is bigger than 2 lbs. :( It just breaks my heart. |
yeah i hope she was too! i wouldnt buy her just because shes that small. MY stepdad is scared to have on that little. he thinks skoshi is 8 pds but we havent weighed him in a long long time. im just scared for her if she is to be that little |
How old is the puppy? And how much does it weigh at this point? I would be concerned about how young it is first and then look at what other health issues you could be getting into. |
I just got my new baby about three days ago. They told me that she was a micro teacup and that she would never weigh over two pounds. She said that Razzle's brothers and sisters would only be a pound heavier than her. I had heard of micro teacups but had never actually seen one until I found Lil Razzle. This woman convinced me that she was the best one of the litter and that she would be a good show girl but the more I read on here the more I find out bad about these "micros" I'm at a loss and very concerned for my baby. I don't know what I should do. I want to keep her healthy and make sure that she weighs an appropriate amount. What do I need to do. |
im not sure. all i did was call and ask the price and i know its a puppy. i didnt want to really know anything till i knew the price. sometimes breeders will tell you sooo much about the pup and the line(which is good) and then tell you the price and your like umm sorry i dont think i can get a pup from you lol. so i try not to waste their breaths if i know im wont be able to buy it. |
its not bad to own one its just hard and because they can be very unhealthy. some breeders breed them way small just to make tons of money. Dont feel like you are put down on here because you own a very small yorkie lots of people on here do but you need to research and see what you can do if complications do come about. like NUTRICAL always have that! |
how much does your baby weigh and how old? |
Razzle is six weeks and 3 days and she weighs a little over half a pound. I've done alot of research and called several vets and I've gotten pretty much the same thing that they're just harder to maintain and that they are more suceptible to health problems like sugar fits. One vet told me about a food that I can put her on to ensure that she has a good digestive track and help her gain weight at a good steady pace. Like I said I'm just so concerned I've already gotten so attached to her and it would just absolutely break my heart if anything were to happen to her. She's just so sweet and full of life and she deserves a good healthy one and it just crawls all over me to know that the woman I got her from is doing what she is doing!! Is there anything that I can do about her? |
do you mind telling us how much you paid for her? she might have been the runt |
We paid $550 for her and she was the smallest of the litter |
opps the lady said the one in the newspaper still had a couple of weeks i must have misunderstood her. she is only 5wks so she is def not ready yet. she said that we could come by and see her and that the mom is on site but the dad is stays with a different lady. she said that she is akc, champ bloodlines, health guarantee and she is $950. ehh i dunno i think i may be able to find a diff one. |

Did she tell you about hypoglycemia and what to watch for and what to do about it? |
ohh lol she is definately not breeding them for the money then. i think your baby just came out the runt and that you got her and for a good price. does she have papers? can we see pics? |

The woman we got her from said that she was the runt and because of that she was worth the most and would be the best ot show if that's what I was interested in. I told her that wasn't the only reason that I wanted her but that I did want one that I could show. We paid the deposit on her and then the next day we paid the rest and got her and when we came to pick her up the woman was trying to talk us out of her and into a little boy who was a TINY bit bigger than Razzle and after we refused her and her husband started talking about how mush they could have gotten out of her |
jeaniek how do you feel about this puppy in the newspaper im posting about. her mom is only 2lbs and on site. |
yeah they could have gotten a lot but im glad she went to a good home where you are taking the time to research and get info on your tiny one! |
6 weeks is way too young. Razzle. 6 weeks is way too young for a Yorkie to leave her mom. My guess is that she sold you a pup young so it would appear that she is going to be "Micro." She may end up being around 4-7 pounds. You just don't know. She is tiny now but that is due to her age. I got Jersey at almost 11 weeks and she weighed just a bit under 2 lbs. She's now 5 months old and weighs 4 lbs. 7 oz. Please watch your baby and make sure she eats and dont' leave her alone for extended periods. Also, keep Nutrical on hand because she's so young and so small she could go hyperglycimic on you. Elaine |

If the mother truely is only two pounds they should not be breeding her. But there is no educating an idiot. |
Hi there and welcome to YT!! :) I have a tiny girl and she is very healthy so try to think positive ok. :D I'm glad you joined YT because so many people on here can help you. Your baby is really young and in my opinion way too young to have left mommy. However, you have this baby and just need to be extra careful. Make sure your little one is eating every few hours. Also, I would give nutrical daily just to be safe. Not saying you have to continue this aways but at this point I think it would be a good idea. However, keep it on hand always. I know someone that got a yorkie at 5 weeks and the baby is now 13 weeks and doing wonderful. She went from less then 1/2 a pound to now 2 lbs. I wish you all the luck with your little one. :) Please feel free to message me if you have any questions about anything. I'll try my best to help you. :) |
like she said she has learned on here that something about her buy were wrong but i bought skoshi at 7 weeks and he was about 1.6pds to 2pds and he to me is about 6 pds now my step dad thinks hes 8 but we havent weighed him you never know how big they can get. |

showing Unfortunely, when picking a shwo pup, you do not pick the tiniest of the litter..a solid 5 to 7 pounder is best. Showing is very stressfull and a tiny can not endure it all...but she will be a good pet...give her Nutra Cal and make sure she eats..she is far too young and tiny to be away from her mother, but you did not know that fact. Best wishes |
She said that it could happen and when I asked her to explain it to me she changed the subject so I have no idea what to watch for. I have another question as well how do I go about bathing Razzle. She's been having problems goin to the bathroom. At first she had diareha(sp?) Now she can't go at all and I to lookin and it's because her fur is matted over her little backside what can I do |
shave or cut it away. also if she gets constipated my vet told me to give skoshi a little tiny bit of vegetable oil or cooking oil and it lubes up the insides so they can go poop do you have pics of your girl? |
I don't have any pics pf her yet but will tomorrow I have to go cook dinner but I really appreciate all the advice and help you have offered I'll be back on tomorrow with pics |
